Is there a better 1st round in a significant fight at any weight?
At 57 and an avid boxing watcher for almost 50 years…this 1st round blows Hagler vs Hearns Rd1 away.

And nobody woulda blamed Joe O’Neil for calling a stoppage inside of 2 minutes into the 1st round.

Moorer’s recuperative power after that is surreal.

What a terrific era for exciting HW fights.

92’ had FOTY candidates in Bowe-Holyfield 1 and Moorer-Cooper as well as ROTY candidates in both of those fights.

Foreman-Stewart, Morrison-Hipp, and Bowe-Coetzer were also entertaining fights from that year.

Hagler-Hearns still shades it for me, but this fight is so much fun to watch. Amazing that Bert couldn't put Moorer away like Foreman did, and Bert dropped Holyfield. Foreman's power was like a slow moving wrecking ball. Jab like a telephone pole.

That was a HW classic slugfest from start to finish, especially when you have Bert Cooper involved.
