Who threw the greatest uppercuts?

Who had the best uppercuts ever, not necessarily the most powerful?

 

Idk about the best, but I really like Juan Manuel Marquez's and Michael Spinks'.

 

Tyson comes to mind.

 

I'd say Tyson, Louis, and Arguello are the big 3 in this category.

Mike Spinks is definitely high on the list though.

 

Duran and Arguello are easily the two best all time at throwing uppercuts to the body.

Orlando Canizales threw really nice uppercuts.

Trinidad is up there too.

 

Bob Foster is up there. People act like all Foster had was the hook, but he threw wickedly powerful uppercuts with either hand.

 

Holmes had an EXTREMELY underrated right uppercut. It doesn't get near enough recognition.

Best left uppercuts: Mike Spinks, Roy, Trinidad, JM Marquez, Finito Lopez, Canizales, JL Castillo.

Best right uppercuts: Tyson, Lewis, Louis, Foreman, Arguello, Toney, Bowe, Holmes.

 

Best southpaw uppercutters: Hagler, Crawford, Mark Johnson, Michael Moorer, Michael Nunn, Zab Judah, and I'll actually give Tank a shout out in this category.

 

Overall though... I think Mike has gotta be the uppercut GOAT.

When people think uppercuts, casuals and hardcores alike, Mike is probably the first fighter who comes to mind when you hear the word.

Pretty sure Meldrick Taylor threw a few too.

 

George Foreman’s uppercut was pretty nasty.

 

Azumah Nelson is high up there too. Nelson threw wicked uppercuts with either hand.
