He's a checkdown master, they pay him Danny Boy Jones money and he will look like......... Daniel Jones
Ugh, another depressing end to the season for 49ers fans. That fumble on the punt was so costly. The feeling that opposing teams/fans felt in the clutch against Montana in the 80s is probably what it feels like with Mahomes now. I sort of felt resigned to the fact that Mahomes (and Reid’s mind) was going to fuck us eventually. He’s just so damn good.
Chris Jones wants to get paid. Interested to see how that plays out. Can't see KC giving him the 30+ mil per season he seeks
Purdy is on the level of DeBerg/Bono/Grbac/Smith, aka some goof the Chiefs would have traded for to get to 10-6 and flame out in the playoffs before they actually drafted Mahomes
Seeing heavy criticism for sf taking the ball in ot. Kyle Shanahan on receiving kickoff in OT: We wanted the ball third if it went to sudden death. Purdy is similar to Smith, not really the others Sf got alot of elite talent but still kinda suspect on the OL and special teams. And the secondary is average without the Samoan kid
Special teams hurt the team really badly today. I wouldn’t say they necessarily win if not for the missed PAT, since I think KC might have gone for it on 4th down if they were down 17-13, and maybe they score a TD there. To his credit, Moody made two 50+ yard FGs. But I think the fumble on the punt was the most costly play of the game, giving KC a super short field to take the lead.
Kind of an inconsequential or unlucky play where the ball clipped a blockers leg and McCloud had to try to grab it, but that comes down to coaching. And I read sf is ranked 25th in special teams. Kc got Dave toub who is probably the best st coach in the bizness
It wasn't his fault. Once the ball hit one of his blockers' leg it became a live ball so he had to go for a recovery.
Not his fault for the original screwup but ... ......Pick the damn ball up son!! He had 2,3 goes at it. Kill the ball! Do what Pickford does, flop on it! Him and fuckin Moody.....make the kick! KC didn't even play "well"....Mahomes was good (he's played better) just so many mistakes and goofs especially from SF.
That was a good game. I watched it with my brother and dad who are Raider fans. I am a Bronco fan so we were all rooting against the Chiefs. They kept talking about how frustrating it is that the Niners never made Mahomes pay for running. I was saying he seems to have extraordinary sense of where he can get to, where he can slide, all that. I missed the Romo comment but it sounds like he said the same thing.
Grbac. Holy shit, that's a name I haven't heard since the 90s. Alex Smith is a pretty accurate comparison for Purdy.
bears gave up a 5th rounder this draft for Ryan Bates, bills backup O lineman. Got a 6th NEXT draft for Fields.
I'm uncertain about it and unless somehow he ends up in Denver (extremely unlikely) I'll be rooting against him. He has his head up his own ass. Talking about dictating what teams can draft him and which teams can't before he's even halfway done with his last college season. Also he was talking about owning part of whatever team drafted him. He did provide some comedy as USC went on a losing streak right after all of that. In his defense most of the games they lost were high scoring shootouts. You can't really blame him for having a horrible defense.
I wanted Donald badly that year and he went 1 pick before the bears. They ended up getting Kyle fuller who was a good player but a trade up a few spots was the move I've heard all that talk. His father seems to be the guy behind it. Sharp guy apparently, and he was on record at least a year or 2 back correctly predicting the salary cap would shoot up 30 million this calendar year. If the kid is a primadona or a locker room problem then that's an issue but his talent and dedication is excellent. Better than manziel. Mahomes had a shitty defense and lost a lot in college so his past season at usc don't bother me. Not saying he'll be mahomes, who came into the ideal situation with better coaching and no need to play immediately That said, a #1 overall pick at qb hasn't came into a better situation in my memory. With a good, young defense and 2 all pro caliber wrs
Vontae Davis, the guy who retired from the Buffalo Bills at halftime of their second game of the season in 2018, and younger brother of tight end, Vernon Davis, found dead in Florida. Age 35. RIP
Never knew they were brothers. He retired when the Bills were playing the Chargers so I remember him.
Hope Arizona trades down so that Marvin Harrison Jr falls to the Chargers. If he's gone then I want to trade down with the Vikings and get Bowers.
