Cuevas' Power Would Be as REAL a Threat as Pacquiao's Ever Faced and Manny Would HAVE to Be a Moving Target Virtually the Entire Time...But Ultimately, REED Thinks Pipino's tooo Slow and Crude to Beat Manny...

I can't get this out of my mind but Pacquiao looks the gratist of our times when faced with a guy who's best punch is a left hand (see Barrera, Cotto, Hatton, shot DLH). He looks great in these matches because his left hand is so much faster than his opponent that he lands his first. And so for that reason, I'd pick him over Cuevas

It's a misconception that Cuevas ONLY had a left hook. It's not true at all. He also had dangerous power in his right. It's just that his hook was bigger.

I'd pick Manny, but not with high confidence. I could envision Cuevas walking through him.

Manny pretty easily. Cuevas defense is too leaky to not get hit repeteadly by the much faster pacquiao, and hed eventually crumble. Sure Cuevas has the proverbial puncher chance, but its a slim one imo

If Cuevas can hold up under that initial early rounds assault, he has a pretty decent chance at stretching Manny…

Gun to my head, I’m gonna say Cuevas catches him sometime in the mid rounds in one of those exchanges and ends Manny right there. Pac is overall more talented. He’s quicker handed, slicker on his feet, and is overall more dynamic. But I think Cuevas with his chin and his one shot power can catch Manny with the left hook over Manny’s right and eventually get him with something he can’t recover from.

    Cuevas KO 7

Imagine Margarito vs Pacquiao without the size advantage and a knockout and that's pretty much what I see here.

Cuevas was better than Margs, but he wasn't as big or tough and the style he has is suicide against Pacquiao.
