Matt O'Riley is proper beans. He'll be off in the summer but i hope we at least drive a hard bargain & make £30m the start to even get a call back. I also kinda hope he goes to La Liga i think it'd suit his play more.

Apparently EPL clubs will vote on scrapping VAR next month.

Reasons cited by Wolves for tabling the motion. All 100% bang-on, imo

◉ Impact on goal celebrations and the spontaneous passion that makes football special.
◉ Frustration and confusion inside stadiums due to lengthy VAR checks and poor communication.
◉ A more hostile atmosphere with protests, booing of the Premier League anthem and chants against VAR.
◉ Overreach of VAR original purpose to correct clear and obvious mistakes, now overanalysing subjective decisions and compromising the game’s fluidity.
◉ Diminished accountability of on-field officials, due to safety net of VAR, leading to an erosion of authority.
◉ Continued errors despite VAR, supporters unable to accept human error after multiple views and replays, damaging confidence in officiating standards.
◉ Disruption of the Premier League’s fast pace with lengthy VAR checks and more added time, causing matches to run excessively long. ◉ Constant discourse about VAR decisions often overshadowing the match itself, so tarnishing the reputation of the league.
◉ Erosion of trust and reputation, with VAR fuelling completely nonsensical allegations of corruption.

VAR has slowed the game down and offered little.

I'd rather the offsides rule eliminated completely.

I liked Wenger's suggestion which was posted in here before about there needing to be daylight between players to go down as offside.

I'm not actually against the concept of VAR, personally, but it has been executed so poorly and inconsistently in the Prem.

If its staying im totally for Wenger's rule

But Im against the whole concept of VAR, personally. It undercuts the whole release of a goal. Is it a goal? Isnt it? The question lasts two minutes sometimes and in the stadium you dont even have the replays to watch you're just....waiting. another move towards fitbaw as a tv show

It does take way too long, they need to sort that, but I'm in favour of rightful penalties being given regardless of the stature of the club, and legitimate or dodgy goals being called correctly. It's been implemented horrendously though.

Urgh. Foden very early goal. Great goal to be fair. Expect Citeh to annihilate West Ham.

Foden again. 2-0 in less than 20 minutes. Citeh absolutely all over West Ham. Hammers have no answers whatsoever.

    So it's:

Champions League: City, Arsenal, Liverpool & Villa

If Man City win the FA Cup:

    Europa League: Spurs, Chelsea

    Conference League: Newcastle

If Man United win the FA Cup:

    Europa League: Man U, Spurs

    Conference League: Chelsea

If we had better referees I would be okay with getting rid of VAR. But as it is, they suck even with VAR & yet are even worse without it. VAR is now used to overturn the half dozen chickenshit calls they miss every game aside from the big calls.

Also the referees in this league are obviously too political. The same clubs that get breaks from the Prem on everything else are the same that get all the calls. That's with or without VAR.

Look at that second goal Arsenal scored on Sunday. They took their time. Assessed that Man City were already going to win their match so let's not give Arsenal anything to gripe about. It's just Everton. They're not playing for anything. They purposely allow an obvious handball goal.

I thought itd reduce bias but Ive seen no sign of it. If anything its just a new tool for underlying biases to exploit. If you feeeze frame right here on camera 17 it becomes clear: PENALTY RANGERS

Rashford out of England squad. Provo squad but omens not good for him . Too much BLM and head-inflating. It doesn't help that he's £10m better off than last time....

....Henderson out too and rightly so.

Could it be that Southgate has finally grown some?

Rashford went from one of the Prem's best players to a bum better suited for the Championship in just one season. Crazy.

Being in England and being surrounded with great ales & lagers and seeing someone drinking Budweiser is one of those things that I try to black out of my memory because I'll give myself a headache wondering how in the fuck is that happening.

2 years, but I get the point. It's amazing.

Foden and Bellingham. They're the key.

Foden has struggled a bit in England formation, the key will be Saka and Bellingham, how much both have left in the tank....Rashford is too streaky to be among best, but I would take him to euros because standard of international football is less than club, more room for him

Leverkusen came all this way, just to probably lose Europa to Atalanta.

Lookman has been on a tear in Europe. I can see a Prem side targeting him.

Fair play to Lookman, he's been absolutely incredible tonight. Before this match I mainly remember him for being generally shit and missing a horrible penalty for Fulham.

Well done Atalanta, they replicated or surpassed the first leg victory against Liverpool, their pressing in the first half strangled Leverkusen and their defence in the second half was impressive, Ruggeri especially so
