I’d go with a Pre-Pavlik Taylor. He might make it boring like he did against Spinks and Ouma, but his jab and superior athleticism win it for him. Jermall can hit but he doesn’t have Pavlik’s jab and right hand power. Give me JT.
Jermain Taylor was exceptionally talented when he was on form, but his stamina was always his big issue. He’s more gifted than Charlo but his chin was also vulnerable as well. 50/50 kind of fight for me. Taylor most likely schools Charlo but there’s a chance that he can get stopped in the late rounds.
The version of Taylor who beat Edouard would convincingly win, imo. Might even stop Charlo. Taylor didn’t have too much in terms of craft, but Jermall doesn’t have much either. Jermall’s only chance imo is to get Taylor into the late rounds where Taylor had a tendency to gas out. But I think Taylor punishes him too much in the early going with the jab and right hand, which could easily make Jermall gun shy as the rounds go by.
Taylor by KO 4 i see this one turning into slugfest real quick n Taylor superior punching power winning… but then again Jermall could feel Taylor power/aggression n decide to try to box him. He has done it before he doesn’t respect his opponent n goes all out or sometimes he uses his jab n boxing to win… either way Taylor wins….50% aggressive/50% jab/right hand boxing Charlo isn’t going to damage Taylor enough….Taylor got wrecked but that was against mostly bigger guys who could punch a bit n walk thru his shit like Pavlik, Abraham, Froch….
