My bad. My recollection was off. But I seem to recall Double, nevertheless, justifying the draw.

Let's use Reed's logic to discuss who was better between Camacho & Duran. I'll preface this by saying I obviously don't agree with it.

AIN'T NO NEED TO DISCUSS IT, BRUH! We saw them in the ring together TWICE now.

Duran Fan: Wait! Duran was way past his prime and way over his best weight. Duran was a legendary lightweight.

SO ARE WE JUST GONNA PRETEND THAT CAMACHO'S BEST WEIGHT WASN'T ALSO LIGHTWEIGHT??? Come on, BRUH! We've seen this twice now.

Not exactly the same but you see the flaws in that argument.

Not saying that i agree necessarily with him, but two fighters can have the same prime weight, but still

Yep, it's an incredbly flawed argument (even though I would pick the Pea confidently)

For the love of Christ, Duran was 17 years past his prime when he fought Camacho.

Chavez was rated as P4P #1 when he fought Whitaker.

Thats beside the point. Which is that two fighters can have the same prime weight, while being different in "effectiveness", at a higher weight

Whitaker’s greatest performance may have been against Hurtado.
    Totally fought differently.
With the DLH fight on the horizon,…he stalked and brutally KO’d a young, dangerous guy

Since a cat has got Xplosive's tongue apparently. Maybe you can help him answer these.

What was JCC's most impressive win at welterweight?

What was JCC's most impressive win post-Whitaker?

We know it wasn't a draw but it was 116-112 at best for Whitaker. You guys act like it was a 12-0 shutout.

I think mid to late 80s Chavez would have a very good chance with a prime 135 Whitaker. A better chance than the '93 Chavez who lost to Randall a few months later then never really had another top notch victory the rest of his career.

    How good was Hurtado really?

He had a flashy 20-0 record with 18 KOs before facing Pernell Whitaker but who did he really beat? It's funny Pea fans love this fight because Whitaker knocked him out which is impressive since Pea wasn't known for his KO power having only about a 17% KO rate. And yeah Whitaker's win over Hurtado was a big deal, not because Hurtado was some all-time great but because it showed Pea's skill and adaptability.

But lets call a spade a spade. Hurtado was the up and coming guy but let's look at his career after Whitaker. He didn't exactly become a legend. After losing to Whitaker Hurtado had a mixed bag of results, with losses to other top fighters like Kostya Tszyu and Vivian Harris showing he wasn't on the level of the best in the sport. So while Whitaker's win was notable, it wasn't against a fighter who went on to do great things. Hurtado's early record might look good on paper, but his later career shows he was just a rising star who never quite lived up to his full potential.

I know I'm going to catch some flack for this from the cheerleading crew, but he has to be one of the most overrated fighters of all time. If you want to talk about a cult following, this guy is the Manson of boxing. And I blame that son of a bitch Kellerman mostly.

Pea was something else. So was Chavez. Wherever and whenever they fight it'll be close.
