Turki loves boxing. He wants to see the best fighting the best. And he's injecting enough money in the sport to make the big fights happen... consistently.

I joked on a previous thread that Dana White would soon want Turki assassinated, but on a serious note... Turki has to represent a real threat to UFC.

The ONLY thing gay ass cage fighting ever had over was:."We make the big fights happen, they don't."

If His Excellency continues to change that, boxing will have UFC against the ropes.

BTW- boxing will ALWAYS have a bigger worldwide appeal than MMA.

You don't see Ronaldo (arguably the most famous sportsman on Earth) sitting ringside for some cage match.

Boxing has a certain artistic and dare I say royal appeal to it that - at the highest levels - will always make it a more compelling sport than two guys rolling around on the ground like maricons.

    Not a threat….IMO.

Both boxing and UFC(not MMA) can exist together.

UFC has become part of American culture like the NBA, MLB and NFL….it’s not going anywhere.

I hope HIS EXCELLENCY likes making fights happen because he’s a super FAN who can afford it….the more money he’s willing to spend the more money so-so/average boxing superstar will take.

Maybe he makes Tank vs Loma…

Both sports are well established. UfC is there to stay, and so is boxing

what heck lol? While it's true that boxing has historically been associated with a certian level of prestige and glamour, UFC has gained more popularity and has attracted wide range of celebrities and high profile figures like Cristiano Ronaldo who attended the Connor Mcgregor bouts among others. I do agree that the ufc does seem to appeal to the less sophisticated consumers much like the nascar and pro wrestling crowd.

The only person who can truly threaten the UFC is Dana White.

Boxing is definitely getting some help from the Saudi’s these days and when they have big events taking place boxing certainly gets more worldwide attention. Saying that though UFC will still stand on its own even with the Saudis assisting boxing. I prefer boxing and ONE Championship over UFC any day but I do acknowledge how much popularity and power UFC has in the business.

A new finding shows that many attendees at Olympic wrestling matches are gay, there to enjoy sweaty men groping and mounting each other. lol

I'm not certain whether His Excellency will ever promote cage fighting, which includes a lot of mounting and rear nude choking/toe bending. This behaviour is broadly outlawed in conservative Saudi Arabia.

In fairness, the primary reason I watch women's beach volleyball is not for the volleyball. So who could blame gay guys watching wrestling and MMA primarily for sweaty ass cracks and sexy mounting and groping? I don't blame them one bit.

Pretty much every word in your post was either opinion or assumption.

It used to be a boxing fan's big concern was hoping boxing could one day return to it's former glory as one of the worlds biggest sports. I think maturity and the understanding that things always tend to evolve and change should have put those hopes to bed. Regardless, the new big concern with some boxing fan's, seems to be the threat of the UFC and mixed martial arts stealing their thunder/fans. I think before I became a bigger fan of MMA than I was of boxing I probably held those insecure views as well.

However, as a mostly MMA/UFC fan I hold zero insecurities of either sport. I think they both can exist and I root for the success of both without feeling the desire to see either one outdoing the other.

I disagree UFC doesn't have the worldwide appeal that boxing does, in fact I think UFC has the bigger worldwide appeal mainly because of the way they host their events in foreign countries. For ex: if a card is held in Brazil, it's mostly fighters from Brazil pitted against fighters from different countries and it sets a kind of homecourt nationalistic appeal to the event. The UFC hosts cards all over the world and employs this type of system in all these different countries. You can literally see MMA thriving and growing all over the world. Even in my own world I'm constantly meeting people learning and even teaching jui jitsu and MMA more than boxing.

Also, the constant disrespectful labeling of jui jitsu as "guys rolling around on the ground" comes from a place of ignorance. The level of skill, training and technique implemented in not only MMA but jui jitsu has just as much science as boxing does and many of the best strikers will have a very high level of training in boxing. In fact there isn't a card that happens where 2 men and even women will just stand and box the entire fight. What makes the UFC great IMO is very rarely can you be very successful based on a single style. You have to be well rounded to be a successful ranked fighter. You can clearly see the skillset of MMA fighters growing and evolving with each new generation coming in and I'm afraid that doesn't bode well for those praying for it's downfall.

Professor Jiu-Jitsu here wants us to know that calling it "rolling around on the ground" is disrespectful. What he really means is...he just loves rolling around with sweaty dudes.

    ufc cnstantly making watchable fights.

Covington vs Poirier at ufc 309 yup both lost their last fight....but t's still a big fight and will get the winner back into the title picture.

Its the equivalent of a Haney v Cruz or Matias......

In making meaninfil matches boxing needs to learn from the ufc

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has declared that he wants to lower boxing PPV prices to £20 in the UK/$20 worldwide and said the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol PPV will be £15 UK/$15 worldwide on Oct 12th: “People [watch] illegally because the price is high. This is in the future will not build boxing. If I give good fights with a good price I will increase the fanbase.” [@talkSPORT]

Great to hear, although i'm surprised he even understands that. Often people born into such enormous wealth don't comprehend concepts such as things being unaffordable.

I think there's a large number of people who feel the same way you do about mma. Gotta respect its not your cup of tea. Im not a fan of the nfl. Call me crazy but never got into it think its the dumbest sport. Love baseball and basketball but football puts me to sleep.

Yeah I'm one of the few people who's not an NFL fan either. Although I understand why other people enjoy it, and I have watched a game and been interested here and there, but for the most part it's just not my thing.
