I love Roy to death, but Spinks knocks him out at 175.

No one below 175 should be favored over Roy.

Qawi has a very good chance against Roy at 175. I'd make Roy the fave, but Qawi would be a live dog.

If Roy ENGAGES Spinks toooooo Loooooooong, Yes, he Gets KO'ed...Absolutely CANNOT Stand in Front of Spinks...

Roy's "FEETWORK" is an Edge vs Spinks Though...Spinks was Knock Kneed and Probably Fought w/a TORN ACL for Most of His Career...Not Saying Roy Runs CIRCLES Around Spinks, But it's an Interesting Element to their Mythical Matchup...

REED Can't/Won't Argue AGAINST Spinks Being Favored Though...

I'd pick Marciano, but we really aren't talking about Roy above 175 here.

Prime Roy is good enough that the only guy from 160-175 that I pick over him with high confidence is Spinks.

I could envision a scenario where Roy outboxes Foster, Charles, and Moore. But in Spinks, Mike was just so versatile and with so much firepower at 175, that I think he figures out even Roy eventually.

At 168, there is no one with a realistic chance against Roy.

At 160? Peak versions of Monzon and Hagler have a good chance of beating the green Roy of 93.

If we're talking about the Roy who started entering his peak in 94, then even Hagler and Monzon lose.

What I strongly suspect is that both would be too crude for Roy, short of Langford having a puncher's chance.

When did Roy weigh in during that time period?
How much juice was he on?
He's the Barry Bonds of boxing.

Hard to say as his chin showed vulnerability as he got older. Sure he would almost certainly beat DM, beterbiev, etc (that tier).

And would have to be favored over Foster, Qawi, etc.

But there are a ton of nuanced match ups that could've been probably given his chin (or assumed chin).

That being said, in his prime he was unreal and would probably be my pick against pretty much everybody.

But I can see Foster, Spinks, even a guy like Kovalev, Beterbiev beating him by KO. In his prime he never even really had a fight where his opponents started getting "downhill" on him.

Roy was all universe but showed pretty serious vulnerability in his chin as he aged. He rarely took big punches at all, and of course he would likely wash Kovalev... but him losing is not outside the realm of possibility.

Seems like at 160/168 he was close to untouchable, but was he just that good or his competition was mediocre? Maybe a combination of both.

Nah, Roy showed he could do what he did to everyone else, to Kovalev without much room for doubt imo

Roy most likely beats Johnson more times if they fought multiple times. But if Johnson could beat Charles and Moore then I think he could possibly beat RJJ at least once.
