According to the law, if it hit the Bournemouth player, it was handball. If that's the case, the laws ridiculous - I'd be raging if that was disallowed after we'd scored it. Yellow for Joelinton was fine, though.

    Yellow was fine he says!!

We'll keep this on ice for when Newcastle are robbed later in the year!

Liverpool look competent at best. Next weekend a proper test.

Re: the whole Oasis reunion thing:

I wouldn't call myself a fan, although I do think they have some good tunes. I also think musically their standing is massively overrated, when compared to the greats of guitar music.

Saying all that, I TOTALLY get the hype. I know a lot of people my age will agree with me that '96 was the greatest summer of my life, and they were basically the soundtrack to the whole thing, whether you liked them or not. It's the closest thing in my lifetime I have ever, or will ever, get to Beatlemania. They were legitimately HUGE, and as an absolute sucker for nostalgia, I won't lie and say I wasn't a bit excited to hear the news. They're just a reminder of a different time and place we won't ever experience again.

1995 for me. I'd found an old radio in a skip and having a bedroom that faced the Irish sea id managed to get on the British airwaves fairly handy. If you followed the Battle of the Band's on TV it wasn't the same. Radio really emphasised how massive it was. Blur Vs Oasis. It seemed to be everywhere.

I suppose Radio was the "online" of its time.

I remember BROS and you were lucky if you ever heard them twice a day.

With Oasis Vs Blur, once an hour, handy. And if they weren't playing their stuff they were talking about them.

You wanna resist falling into the 'aye things were better in my day, son' stuff, but things actually were better in the 90s. That said i can't even enjoy oasis on a noatalgia level at this point the music is just sooo insipid, you couldn't pay me to see them live. Reef, otoh? Thats a nostalgia trip I'll go back for 100x, they're still absolutely 5 stars live!

I think Definitely Maybe is quite overrated. I actually prefer What's The Story and there are still songs on there I enjoy.

One thing which always annoyed me about Oasis was their rhythm section was shite. Half the time you couldn't even tell there was a bass there because Noel played about 1500 guitar overdubs on top of it.

Its a shame Noel didnt do more collab stuff like setting sun with chemical brothers b/c he's got a good voice and a great ear for a tune but really needs somebody to drag him out that dreary mid pace 4/4 A minor territory. He's the musical equivalent of somebody who refuses anything except fish fingers, beans & oven chips. Playing a 7th or a sus chord on his gibson is a walk on the wild side. I do still quite like the rockier ones on the first one... 'bring it on down' & 'columbia'

Noel and Liam both had good voices to be fair, albeit very different. Liam more unique and Lydon-esque, Noel technically better and more traditional but I enjoyed them both.

Agreed as well, I enjoyed Noel's forays into electronic music with the Chemical Brothers and Goldie. The tune he made for the X-Files were cool too.

At the end of the day though, maybe he just isn't capable of expanding musically. The guy doing this interview sounds like a pretentious bellend but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it were true.

Sellik absolutely scrambling now. We got a young left back (!!!) from barca on loan so we've one new outfield player. But Brendan is saying plublicly, pointedly, he expects three more starters in, and he's right to. We've just had a £10m bid for Arne Engles at Ausburg rejected after agreeing terms with him- o/c they're gonna squeeze the pip, they know we have a 9 figure cash reserve and are fucking desperate. Two other deals in the pipe. Seem we're shopping at a slightly higher price point for our 20 y/o prospects, finally. But still only window shopping and its 4pm on Christmas eve

This new Champions League format is confusing as fuck. Still, Villa-Celtic should be fun.

Noel has admitted that he ruined Definitely Maybe in the studio with overdubs. They paid s third producer to come in and save it. He also played drums and bass for the whole album, replacing McCarrol and McGuigan. So he was the rhythm section. That album is just Noel, Bonehead and Liam.

I have Oasis as my #7 favorite band between #6 Pet Shop Boys & #8 Steely Dan.

I was stationed in Japan for the release of the third album and that for me was the closest thing to Beatlemania I have experienced. Madness in Tokyo.

Best place I've ever been mate. I can't speak highly enough of it. I think it's a country everyone should experience at least once in their life. I know you're a regular visitor there and I think me and the missus will be doing the same. Can't wait to go back.

Yeah, I remember reading that Noel laid down the law essentially when they formed the band that the bass was just going to be root notes and nothing extravagant, and the guitars would carry everything. Obviously it was a successful formula but it is quite restrictive if you want to move on from that sound.

Real Madrid-Liverpool again. I expect Real to win, would prefer Liverpool to come out on top but you just get the feeling Real are in their heads now.

Tokyo, Kanazawa, Osaka, Kyoto, Okayama, Naoshima and then back to Tokyo.

I would like to give Osaka a second shot. The heat in Japan during summer is insane, Osaka for some reason I couldn't really find anywhere when walking around to escape it, in terms of shade etc. With it being summer holidays too it was just a bit much with the crowds. I'd like to experience it in autumn. The food I tried there was delicious and I really liked Denden Town.
