Khan just even getting in the ring with Canelo is the antithesis of AJs entire ethos. I never liked Khan but that was a double-take moment if ever there was one. He actually took Canelo having failed to get Mayweather or Pac. AJ is all of the bad Khan shit, on steroids, with none of the good stuff. He gutted it out Vs Wlad as you'd imagine a guy with a 15 year youth advantage might . That's it.
Khan had a much better career than AJ. P4P AJ would get killed by a guy the caliber of prime Maidana.
Maidana lost every round to devon alexander. He's like the 15th best win of Mayweather jrs career. That's khan's top victory?
I guess it depends on your perception of how degraded wald pussy was when AJ beat him. For me, while he had clearly slowed down, i dont think he was even close to be shot, so i think it was a really good victory (better or on par with the Maidana one). Again, i liked Khan much more than that big oaf, but i think people are getting overcarried with how bad AJ career/resume was/is. He's far from an ATG (and so is Khan), but he had a pretty solid run
Khan has solid wins over: Judah, Maidana, Paulie, Kotelnik, Alexander, Algeri. Joshua has wins over: Old Wald, Parker, and that's it. Dillian Whyte is a fuckin bum. Andy Ruiz is a fat tub of shit who never should have gotten world class exposure, but AJ shit the bed and made him a household name. Neither is anywhere close to a great, but Khan's resume is better.
Devon Alexander is a guy you personality rated very highly at one point. I remember. What did AJ do? Like seriously, what did he ever do? Besides beat a washed up Klit.
Apparently Khan wrote in one of his books that he never became the superstar in the UK he thought he would become. Anecdotally, I don't think he was as beloved by casuals as Joshua and Hatton were. Fury is also more popular imo. All that said, I do also recall the mega hype and promotion when he was promoted by Warren in the early stages of his career. His fights on ITV [the UK's 2nd best TV station] , the "King Khan" campaign for his ill-fated debut on Sky Box Office, etc. I have never seen the Mario Kindelan rematch, but I have also read rumours that the Cuban was paid to take lose.
Algeri is a solid win??!!! Now this is getting ridiculous. You cant praise bum ass Algieri and thrash whyte and ruiz in the same post. Yeah these guys were/are scrubs, but compared to alegria, they can pass for the reincarnation of muhamad ali. Lets revisit this in a few years when the schadenfreude over AJ loss is long gone, and nosttalgia stats to kick in
Khan did as good a job on Allegoria as the other big names did, and he did BETTER than Provodnikov did.
The referee was absolute garbage. He did his absolute best to not stop the fight. Mario Yamasake would be proud.
frazier won the fight of the century. resume is based on victories. joshua will make the hall of fame, khan wont. not that either is deserving
Like Fraudley, who swiftly went from a well enough liked olympian to a figure of derision, there was nothing organic about the public having AK pushed in their maw, and the Sky Sports fawning as he was windmilling smaller guys in main events got nauseating. The British sporting public didn't buy it, plus it didn't help that AK is utterly gormless and he came with a retinue of useless relatives in tow. Having said that he amounted to a lot more than I imagined and he's got heart for days. From being loved as an Olympian to being hated as a young pro, veteran Khan ended up getting some respect for always putting on a show.
Did you combine Kenny bayliss and tony weeks into one Mayweather jr protection driven referee entity, reed ?
Just caught the whole thing on YouTube. Man, I cannot remember AJ ever looking THIS bad. THIS inept. Even against Usyk he looked better. His punch resistance in this fight was straight up giving Amir Khan’s a run for its money. Even cuffing shots appeared to shake him up. AJ might wanna consider calling it a day unless he wants to get a couple more pay days out, because he looked flat out SHOT.
Good vid Reed. For the record though, Chisora actually beat Joyce, unless you meant draw as in getting people to watch.
Wait so we're counting Chris Algieri as a solid win now? The guy's resume reads more like kickboxer, nutritionist-podcaster than anything memorable in a boxing ring.
Nah, REED Legitimately Convinced Himself the Joyce-Chisora FIGHT was a Draw...And Said "Kenny Weeks"...And Solidified His Status as Possessor of THE Worst Faux, "IMProper" British Accent on Youtube...All in One Video... REED
I was waiting for this video. I agree that Dubois defeated the referee. What a piece of shit he is. Thanks REED.
