I’d give Beterbiev and Bivol a chance against Target, and Beterbiev might even KO him, but I don’t see how either could be Hopkins or Calzaghe.

Im fairly sure tarver beats both of them. Spinks is a given.

They are both better than Finnegan, but against all the others, id say its pretty muck a pick em

Brilliant fight. Very close. So much talent in one ring. I had it to Bivol, but can see why many gave it to Beterbiev as he was busy. Depends on what you prefer when judging a fight. Hopefully there's an instant rematch.

    Spinks? Lol.

Spinks at 175 is literally one of the best fighters who ever lived. Neither Beter nor Bivol could shine his shoes.

Both Beter and Bivol would give MSM a tough fight, but i think prime Saad stops both late. Especially Bivol.

Marvin Johnson, they have a good chance of beating him.

Fraser Clarke, though. Damn. That was a serious quickfire knockout. His body was in the ring but his mind was somewhere else completely. Hope he's OK.

Bivol, Beter, Kov, and Michalczewski are the 4 best Eastern Euro light heavyweights of all time.

Personally, I would say that the 2013-2015 Kov peaked higher than the other 3.

Conor Benn. Fuck me. He's fought absolutely no one whatsoever, yet he mouths off like he's some mega superstar. And why is he always angry?! Chill mate. It's ok. But please...make the Eubank fight so that Eubank can put this lad down and pipe him down for good...hopefully.

Back to Irish's post, John Conteh had a VERY brief peak, but in that brief peak I favor him over Bivol. Not entirely sure about Beter, as Conteh didn't have an iron chin. But Conteh had too many tools for Bivol.

He's angry because he's unaccomplished and his best years are passing him by because he's made poor decisions, like taking chlomidine or whatever the fuck it is called .

Jordan Peterson has a theory about aggression, serotonin and underachieving people.

    Calzaghe? Tarver? Hopkins?

I took think Spinks/Foster is a bridge too far. Moore, Charles a bridge too far too.

Chris Finnegan might well defuse Beterbiev but get out shimmied by Beevol.

Btw ref did awful job in Wardley Vs Clarke rematch. Clarke did a worse job defending himself but ref should never have let Clarke turn off the ropes like that.

I've warmed to Fabio Wardley a bit. Kind of weird he's come from the white collar background with no real experience into pro boxing, but fair play to him he's putting in the graft, he's getting results and is fun to watch. Obviously he's no future great or anything like that, but he'd be a good pick for the "favourite b-level boxer" thread that was on here.

Clarke is shit but he seems like a good guy, hopefully there's no serious, long-lasting damage.

English isn't Bivol's first language, but I still enjoy listening to him speak. He said a lot depends on our emotions. Emotions may stop you from realising your true potential. Many fighters felt there is this aura of invincibility around Beterbiev, that he's some kind of monster. So instead of embracing the challenge, they already have their mind set and become scared and this effects their performance. Bivol was actually excited for the challenge. You have to believe in your ability.

Roland LaStarza had the same energy before his own massive effort Vs Marciano in their rematch in 1953. Basically that Marciano was human and had a breaking point.

Beevol applied that mentality Vs Canelo too.

Box the guy, keep thinking, don't act like you need a KO, just keep working.

Too bad that shit took place in Saudi.

    "TARGET" lol

I think Hopkins would struggle with Beevol who is so loose and jerky but he might give Beterbiev fits if he could suck him into a war of feints and sucker punches.

Likewise I think Calzaghe has an edge with that southpaw style and his chin and work rate.

I genuinely don't think Beter hits harder with a single shot than Byron Mitchell or Kessler so I think Joe can take that and work off it .

It's as much styles as it is talent that would decide these things. People like Evans Ashira or David Starie or Robin Reid are going to sleep Vs Beterbiev but that doesn't mean he can't lose to Joe.

Tocker Pudwill would have went to sleep also.

I think Beterbiev is a bad fight for calzaghe. Kovalev too. Beterbiev probably has more power than those guys you mentioned but is also just better than them. You mentioned Calz chin but it was crackable. He had a great recovery but he looked hurt a few times. I think he would do well vs Bivol and might beat him.

It was cringeworthy to see how Clarke just couldn't avoid the telegraphed overhand. I remember Wardley was extremely gassed after the 6th round of their first fight but he had Clarke down a few times and had him going. Once he gassed in that he just couldn't sustain his attacks I thought. Clarke is a club fighter. But so is Wardley. He is literally just a free swinger in there but he's game and will continue to have success until he runs into a counter and has his chin cracked. At that point he's going to decline rapidly and it's going to happen soon. But credit to the guy for being willing to just go wild and force action. It's a bit like Ngannou in some UFC fights, just going berserk and wildly swinging. Absorbing counters and putting opponents out with his own shots. Wardley is going to get absolutely flatlined doing that. Clarke on the other hand might be able to get some paydays against cans but he should be careful about stepping up to even a Wardley level. I have to say it was an atg moment when we got the close up when his soul left body temporarily, along with the dented head.

Beter and Bivol beat all three of those guys.

    Hopkins' best weight was 160.

    Calz's best weight was 168.

And nobody would remember Tarver's name had he run into a prime Jones.
