This trade is a disgrace for Dallas. Lucky to get one full healthy season out of Davis. Meanwhile the fucking Lakers land another star player. Trash league.
Old man Lebron sit down. This is Luka & Bronny time. Luka's offense and superstardom combined Bronny's occasional free throw this team is going all the way.
Has to be more to this. Luka you pay the max all day everyday. For (apparently) none of the players on either team to know this was happening, it has to be some Udoka style actions that gets him moved. Otherwise, Dallas has just pissed it’s reputation up against the wall as far as players are concerned.
Well at any rate the move definitely saved Pelinka's job not only by bringing in Luka but also splitting up Bron and AD and taking the edge off that clutch sports power dynamic. I'm sure you guys saw both LBJ and AD always on the same page whether it was both working in tandem to undermine Darvin Ham leading to his firing and the more recent situation of them two conspiring to call out Lakers management and asking for more help. Rumor was that Pelinka was going to be this seasons scapegoat when they once again lose in the first round or miss the playoffs all together. In other news apparently Lebron is Luka's idol, boy is he in for a disappointment when he meets that prick.
Bron Will Be the BEST Thing to Happen to Luka, in REED's Opinion...His Professionalism, Conditioning and Overall Body Maintenance Will IMPROVE w/Bron as a Teammate... Offended by the Trade, Luka's About to RAISE His Game to An Even Higher Level, REED Predicts...Dude is PISSED, EMBARRASSED, Feels SLIGHTED and is About to Take His Craft as SERIOUSLY As He Ever Has, Previously... Sucks for REED, But the League Better Brace Itself... REED
You assume he's going to get in shape. Maybe he will maybe he won't but whatever path he takes won't surprise me. This generation is different and there just seems to be a good amount of lack of professionalism and motivation for some of these guys to compete at the highest level and be the best. I'm not saying that's Luka but Luka to me does seem kind of immature like he's still that teenager who turned pro many years ago.
It’s far more likely Bron does what he has with almost all his star players and turns them into stationary jump shooters. Assuming he doesn’t force his way to Golden State like the rumor mill is saying. Sucks for the Mavs. I quite enjoyed watching Luka and Kyrie together.
On the GM Nico, he came across as delusional in the announcement with J Kidd. He actually reminded me a lot of a manager at my current work: nervous laughter, deflecting with self deprecation and overall not delivering a clear message.
REED's Basing it on Luka's RESPONSE to Slights in the Past... People Always Compare Luka to Dirk Because of the White/Dallas Connection, But in Actuality the Most APT White Guy Comparison for Luka is Larry Bird...A BALLSY, RUTHLESS, CUTTHROAT Competitor...As Great as Dirk Was, He was a BETA Personality; Luka is a Natural Born ALPHA, Like Bird... And When You PISS OFF Those Types, They Bust Your Ass... Surprise, Shock, Shame, Embarrassment - Luka's Going Thru All of This Now...But Please Believe, PAYBACK is Imminent...Time Will Ultimately Tell, But REED is BOLDLY Predicting Luka Will RAISE His Game as a Result... REED
Yeah, Nico Didn't Recognize the True MAGNITUDE of His Decision til AFTER the Fact...The DEMAND for a Pre-Game, Luka Based Presser WASN'T What Nico Anticipated... Nervous Laughter, Poor Attempts at Being Funny, a LOT of "JKidd and I Believe....", Type of Talk...He Ultimately Took Ownership of the Decision But it was CRYSTAL Clear "Shit Got REAL" to Nico In That Moment.... REED
More Than Anything, REED Faults Nico for Admittedly ONLY Discussing the Luka Trade w/the Lakers...That's Bullshit...Sure, Nico and Rob Pelinka Built a Relationship Over the Years Thru Kobe, But You STILL Have to Do Your Due Diligence as a GM and Exhaust ALL Trade Options 1st, vs. Jumping On Just 1 Option... Particularly w/a Generational Talent the Likes of Luka Doncic...Nico DID NOT Work in the Best Interests of the Dallas Mavericks, in This Instance... REED
When you really look at it, if you're trying to get back an elite player so that the mavericks are still viable title contenders this season and next, who else is there besides davis ? Boston isn't trading tatum, okc isn't trading gilgeous Alexander, Denver isn't trading jokic, Milwaukee isn't trading Antetokounmpo, Minnesota isn't trading edwards , san antonio isn't trading wembanyama Sure they could've dealt him to a team with a shitload of draft picks
Even if That's True, You Still Have to Have the CONVERSATION Bruh...You Have to INQUIRE... That's What GM's Do... REED
Mavs beat okc 3 times this year, did doncic play in any? I know he missed the last 2 Mavs are gonna be a problem defensively for teams, they're loaded up front Obviously the key will be the health of davis and Irving They replaced a weak link with an elite defender
You’re not wrong but they also gave up two other players and a pick. They couldn’t get a first back as well?
Fair enough. Still way unders for Doncic. Has there ever been a franchise that’s been more kissed on the dick than the Lakers?
The Mavs Ain't SNIFFING the Finals w/Out That "Weak Link"Bruh....Sure, the BEST Team in the League Took Advantage of Him Defensively...How Did Those Other Playoff Series Pan Out Though???... Great Players Have BAD Series Sometimes, Even NBA Finals Series... REED
You don't think this current mavs roster can make the finals ? Hes a great player no doubt. But he's a statue on defense
subconsiously Depends on the AVAILABILITY of Kyrie and Street Clothes, Both of Whom Miss a LOT of Games EVERY Season... Playing w/Bron in LA Puts a TANGIBLE Level of Pressure on ANY Player, Especially an Injury Prone Motherfucker like AD...But There's No Such Presence in Dallas, REED Ain't Terribly Optimistic and Expects AD's Pain Tolerance/Willingness to Play to DIP... AD's a Sensitive Ass Dude and This is a HISTORICALLY Unpopular Trade...He'll Never Feel Welcomed or Embraced by a "Portion" of the Dallas Fanbase, Which Could Lead to Indifference and/or Straight Up APATHY Towards Performing for Maverick Fans @ All, On AD's Part... REED
On the other hand he has 2 legit centers to take the pressure off which he lacked since the lakers let howard and Mcgee walk Plus some damn good perimeter defenders in Washington, Marshall, exum and grimes
I've been watching some YouTube's regarding this trade and I've got a theory: When it comes to Lebron and clutch sports, the power they seem to weild over the league is unlike anything I've ever seen. It kind of reminds me of the influence and power Kamala and Biden had over the media where everything around Lebron seems to be narrative driven. Lebron has specific sports commentators who are in Clutch's pocket who shill for him, particularly Kendrick Perkins, Shannon Sharp and Shams Charania. Once I saw some of those guys going so hard trying to convince everyone how much LBJ didn't know about the trade it immediately made me realize he absolutely knew and probably set the whole thing in motion. Clutch seems to have it's hooks in Adam Silver too who is probably no different to buy out than your average politician. This trade makes zero sense from the Mavs point of view and there's no way I believe they gave up on a superstar who just took them to a couple finals. So my theory is Clutch and Lebron got Adam Silver to make this trade happen. There's a way to prove my theory too. If you see AD missing a lot of games the rest of this season and Dallas remaining pretty low in the standings, you might want to put some money on Dallas getting Cooper Flag as a repayment to Dallas.
Coming out now that there were multiple firsts and Knecht in the deal but Pelinka talked Nico out of it. If that’s true then yeah Pelinka is the gm of the decade. Nico got his pants pulled down.
Maybe dallas could've got more picks. Knecht is a great piece for either team but his minutes would've been even more limited on Dallas who is very deep at the wing position. Especially with davis allowing Washington to play more 3. Knecht would've been about the future for Dallas
