Yeah, I'm no lover of Loma, but Loma in his physical prime would have thrashed the shit outta Tank.

There is not a single lightweight great that would struggle with Lamont fucking Roach.

I'd pay any amount to watch Tank against the lightweight DLH or Mosley. Especially Mosley. What a career ending beating Shane would put on him.

 

Mosley was just a bigger fighter than davis. Same for fishnets. I dont put any stock in them beating the kid at 135. He could compete with duran, Stephen dejesus, Armstrong and the lot who did same day weighins at that division. He's a midget

 

I know you've become the ultimate Davis apologist, but surely you can't be suggesting that he could "compete" with Duran or Armstrong? A man who struggled with Barrios and dropped the first 4 rounds to Romero.

He has better odds against Mosley and Oscar than he does Duran.

And DeJesus stops Tank. DeJesus was far more skilled than Roach, with the difference being DeJesus had more pop and more meanness than Roach.

 

Boxing and officiating is in a parlous state over there.

 

DeJesus wasnt far more skilled than Roach. Roach skills are exquisite. It was beautiful seeing him moving his body to parry and block Tank shots. But he doenst have a lot of natural talent, hands wise. Dejesus was much better there, and hed batter tank

 

So Tank gets a gift draw. At least they didn’t outright rob Roach by handing him a loss. That was as good of a performance that any fighter could do in taming Tank. Imagine what Loma, Shakur, Teo or even Haney would have done.

 

Roach will now become overrated.

DeJesus was one of the best counter punchers in lightweight history. Roach has a long way to go before such a comparison can be made.

 

Tank is just the latest in what happens to people who think they can box part-time.

 

I don't think Loma can beat Tank now. He's semi-retired, maybe even fully retired.

The Loma of 2016 would stop Tank, in a one sided fight. And we all know that I feel Loma is overrated himself, but at his peak he's a level above Tank.

Shakur vs Tank? The outcome is alllll up to Shakur. If he fights Tank aggressively the way he did Herring and Valdez, he beats the fuck outta Tank. If he fights like a negative bitch, then Tank has a good chance. In other words, it would be Shakur's fight to LOSE more than Tank's fight to win. If Shakur uses all his tools in a positive way, Davis would have no answers for him.

 

It's a combination of his skills beginning to erode, and his skill-level always being overhyped.

Im not so sure Shakur or haney have the chin and toughness to withstand the few bombs Tank will land. First time seeing Roach, but his chin seems granite. Never was fazed by tank power

 

I didn't mention Haney, because I doubt Haney has the chin or the defense to beat Haney.

I don't think anything is wrong with Shakur's chin. I think if he chose to walk Tank down behind his jab, he would take him apart.

Caught highlights. Roach was robbed something serious.

The flaws were always there. Even against Frank Martin, Tank took alot of clean shots and lost rounds.

I’d favor Shakur over him, even though Shakur can be boring. He still has the right style to neutralize everything Tank does.

 

I just dont trust Shakur toughness. His negativity makes me wonder if hes not aware of his own vulnerability

 

On the Premier Boxing championship GLOVES OFF episode to build up this fight...Tank trainer says that teenage Tank loved Broner....wanted to be just like him...and Tank also says something about looking bad on fight night, losing....that would destroy him or some shit....HE might not recover from the Roach scare...

 

I dont overrate him. I think his skills are great, but his natural abilities are on the low side for an elite fighter, bar his toughness. I don't expect him to be a threat to the elite of the division (bar bum ass stank )
