1. That Canelo is greater than Larry Holmes. 2. That Golovkin was just as good as Hagler. 3. That Lamont Roach is more skilled than Sonny Liston. Sweet Holy fucking Christ about that third one... And the week isn't even over.
I heard on Tik Tok that neither Hearns or Hagler would have won titles in today’s era, followed by “we done with the 80s.” I’m getting tired of the internet…
Vehemently arguing for it too. I think it's very arguable he isn't top 20 in terms of resume, but I've got an old timey list. He sure as fuck isn't top 10 though.
He's not top 10 on resume or H2H. I'm willing to die on the hill that he isn't better than Beterbiev; Beterbiev is simply ancient. I think Beter would have whupped Bivol's ass 6 years ago. In the pantheon of light heavyweight greats, Bivol is closer to Virgil Hill level than he is to Spinks, Charles, Jones, Moore level.
In the mid-2000s a popular opinion on Eastside was that Calzaghe would have beaten Michael Spinks. That was bad enough... That was TAME compared to today's ESB.
That’s pretty bad. Although I still think BScene has had worse takes over the years. Has anyone dared stepping foot in Boxingscene recently?
Most Gen Z forums are fucking trash. The level of ignorance and delusion off the charts. And it’s not just for boxing. Basketball discussion groups today are absolutely terrible and embarrassingly ignorant and lacking in basic basic BASIC knowledge. The type of stuff you’d get laughed out of a forum for saying is now just regular talk and discussion.
I think it's probably because in the "old days" most people would bother to join topic specific forum were a enthusiasts of a sort, particularly with something niche like boxing. It's not there weren't dumb/ignorant people but it wasn't near as bad. Less people also simply were online too, let alone carrying it in their pocket. The ignorance. bias and stupidity is magnified for a host of reasons.
