Keith Thurman finally returned and scored a KO over an Aussie scrub named Brock Jarvis. I watched the replay and even though Jarvis is trash, Thurman looked surprisingly good for having come off such a long layoff. His power, handspeed, and athleticism aren't totally gone yet. Thurman might be able to go for a late-career title run if he stays active and healthy. This era is weak as fuck. Keith would have a decent shot against a lot of guys.
Agreed, Thurman looked very good and he still has it physically it seems. However, it's hard to judge wether he still has the hunger as this was basically a punching bag session. And considering he fought so infrequently in the recent years, I doubt he does.
Looked pretty good albeit an unranked opponent. I would definitely like to see him against Spence next. It’s past its due date but better late than never.
Thurman is 36 now. He can compete against some of the guys there. But I doubt he’d beat the likes of Crawford and Ortiz. He’d have a hard night with the likes of Bohachuk or Madrimov. But maybe against a Jermell Charlo or Tim Tszyu he could have a shot.
Fundora's a scrub. If Keith can summon up even 70% of what he used to be, I think he could potentially upset Fundora. The good news for Thurman is that unlike Spence, he hasn't taken hellacious punishment.
"Prime" thurman never did shit at 154, what makes you think he could do what crawford and ortiz were unable to do? Guy was terrified of crawford for years
If Madrimov fought Porter and Garcia, he'd have beaten them. Instead he fought better guys and lost in competitive bouts. Thurman couldnt even beat the fuck out of them 2 welters.
Pleasantly Surprising... Hard for REED to See Past Thurman's HAIR These Days vs What it Used to Be...Samson w/a Skullet, Ain't the Same....This + Thurman's Inactivity + the Aussie Dude's SIZE Presented Enough DOUBT as to the Outcome... Given These Circumstances, You HAVE to Be Somewhat Impressed w/How Thurman Performed...Either This Jarvis Fellow is VERY Bad OR Thurman's Got a MONEY Fight or 3 Left In Him.... & w/Tszyu Literally Commentating Ringside, "What's Next" for Thurman is Obvious...REED Wouldn't Mind a Thurman-Spence "Better Late than Never" Affair Either, But it's IFFY Spence EVER Competes in a Ring Again... REED
Fudora's Fairly DURABLE and BUSY AF Though...He'd Test the Shit Out of Ol' Man Thurman's CARDIO, if Thurman Doesn't Deter Him... That's a 50/50ish Fight, Maybe 52/48 in Fundora's Favor... REED
I agree Fundora's a slight favor, but he's average enough that Keith has a live chance. Double always acts like Fundora's bum ass is Dwight Qawi or something.
Bruh, There's ZERO Evidence to Readily Assume Madrimov Would've BEATEN Porter and Garcia...That's a Hunch and a Half! We Can't Give PROXY Wins to a Fighter Renown for L's....REED Likes Madrimov Too, But WIN a Big Fight 1st, Just ONE!!!... REED
Shawn Porter Fought as Heavy as 165-78 or So as an Ammy and Has a WIN Over Usyk....He WOULDN'T Be Completely Out of his Depths Fighting Pro @ '54... REED
Madrimov is just a good fighter. He's not the killer Neil wanted him to be. Keith Thurman is hardly Ray Leonard, but it's kind of insulting to pick Madrimov over a prime Thurman when the man has won nothing, and Thurman has several good wins.
