Yet another tough fortnight for Liverpool. PSG, a cup final, then the arseholes are visiting.

Ideally Chelsea do us a favour but Cole Palmer has decided to be a useless cunt recently

    Yup. Taxpayer funded stadiums.

It's the reason teams pack up an move. And was the central plot of a popular baseball movie from the 90s.

    How many Marquinos' are there?

I know Arsenal signed one and have had him out on loan his whole time there. There's one on PSG. I think the PSG Marquinos is the guy who was playing in the WC for Brazil.

The Arsenal Marquinhos is also Brazilian. They keep loaning him to Brazilian clubs.

That wentbl about as well as it could have for Newcastle United. Physically and emotionally draining night. Beaten at home (albeit penalties) and TAA injured.

    It's over!

Now Liverpool can concentrate on the Premier League. Such a tight race.

Liverpool played OK but it's a fair reflection of the way they peaked earlier in the year unfortunately, it's a shame but the Premier league is wrapped away so it's won't matter. PSG seemed to be getting better relative to group stages but Liverpool in opposite trajectory. Hopefully Atletico can produce at least one pleasant surprise in this round of 16.

I'm very tempted to bet on Newcastle now in the final. 19/5 are their current odds with Sky Bet.

Great game, wrong outcome. Arsenal won't have much for Madrid IMO, in fact the only end to this story which I could savour is Barca humiliating Real in the final. And I don't even like this Barcelona.

Horrible penalty incident. Absolutely horrible. Atletico must play on an ancient burial ground or something.

Arsenal with a full squad would have a real chance imo, but yeah the current team not so much.

Being an Arsenal fan must be insanely frustrating. Post-2004 under Wenger it was so clear to everybody that all they needed was a bit of steel in midfield to compete again, but he kept buying technical, yet soft, Fabregas types. Now under Arteta it's obvious all they need is a genuine striker to finish the jigsaw and he refuses to sign one.

It wouldn't surprise me if they got past PSG, but I suspect they'll shit the bed at some point, ala Leeds against Valencia. They're definitely a tough proposition for anyone at Villa Park.

I used to call them "the fruit flies".....identikit indistinguishable from one another....Nasri,Hleb, Rosicky etc. All very neat and precise but they needed somebody like Mascherano.

I never understood why they gave Yaya Toure a trial but didn't sign him. His bro was already there and he would have been a perfect replacement for Viera/Gilberto Silva.
