Dunno. Its harsh but I think you have to take the league as your primary barometer. All the underlying numbers said Ange was unlucky in his first season with performances being better than results but I don't think that was even the case this season. Does winning the EL have any bearing on the prospect of him turning things around next season?

He probably should have just stayed at Celtic he was worshiped like a Sun God. He'd be being carried into stadiums on a palanquin by now

Aye, Tottenham were in relegation form this season, finished with less than 40 points. They were exceptionally lucky the bottom 3 were so awful. I like Ange but I can understand the decision.

Spurs could have handed the guy £70m and asked him to try again. I stead they're going to give that £ to Thomas Frank and say they've made a great decision.

I don't think England will thrive under Tuchel. I'm not science based per se. Rather, I've heard he's a big time Charlie that loves gangbangs. Just strikes me as too self absorbed and distracted.

It's pretty clear from the like of Deschamps and to a lesser extent Southgate that International management not so much about tactical nous than creating a team ethos and managing egos with an uncomplicated tactical template which plays to strengths. Tuchel is not a great fit based on that, and English midfield weakness hasnt been addressed, Bellingham too undisciplined, Rice needs a partner, Henderson shouldnt be anywhere near there....they could do with bringing in a young guy like Wharton who can help rice

Bellingham's job description appears to involve speaking to match officials. All the time. In every game.

I dont often watch scotland tbh but afaik Clarke generally finds some way of shoehorning them both in, generally with Tierney playing slightly infield as part of a 3 & Robertson outside

No way celtic would ordinarily be able to compete for a player on Tierneys level he's taken a real hit in pay and prestige out of old-school Paul McStay junglelove- bless his wee heart. The other good thing is that the left side of our defence has been our soft underbelly ever since he left and, assuming he's fit, we now insert our best player there. Could be a difference maker for us

7 years after the John McGinn thing we're doing the same again with Lennon Miller. Another celtic daft kid we cleverly saved a penny on when he was affordable and is now gonna end up worth £20m in EPL or seria a while we line up with some guy from Timbucktoo in midfield. Boo

United will end up spending same on Cunha and Mbuemo, it's a huge investment but he looks to be worth it, the kind of sure thing that you could only say for Yamal, Musiala, Mbappe, maybe one or two more - if it doesn't work out it won't be because it was a bad signing

    A lot depends on personalities.

Dirk Kuyt was a donkey who cost £10m and scored 50 premier league goals a d played in a CL final. Why? The management believed in him and he rewarded that faith.

If Wirtz has the personality to not let the tag bother him, if his teammates welcome him onboard, if he grabs a few early goals... he'll be fine.
