Who has more potential: Xander Zayas, Emiliano Vargas, Abdullah Mason or Curmel Moton

Four talented young up and coming prospects. Whose more likely to make it to being one of the top fighters down the road?

 

Moton is interesting but the question is whether he can keep his weight down to fight at 130lbs

he's 5 foot nothing

I wouldnt rank zayas among the other 3 as far as talent/ potential

 

Probably Mason, but I doubt any of them reach truly elite status.

 

I'd say Mason. Just off being a southpaw and fast. Immediate problems for 90% of opponents.

 

While Abdullah Mason SEEMS Like the Obvious Choice, REED Can't UNSEE Him Getting Dropped TWICE By a Non-Descript Opponent...Certainly Doesn't BODE Well for the Quality of Mason's Punch Resistance as His Caliber of Opposition Increases...

on the subject of being dropped/rattled.....guys like Hatton and Ward were dropped and hurt early in their career and went on to show decent chins. Sam Peter ate bombs Vs Wlad then fell apart Vs McCline but still went on to win a title.

It's not good, but it's not always definitely a thing.

I always think any son of Fernando Vargas is gonna be a bit slow, a bit hittable, a bit rudimentary at the highest level.

The old man was at his best Vs guys like Raul Marquez, Yori Boy Campas. These aren't speedsters. Not by any stretch .

He'll do well but as soon as he runs into somebody like a Shane Mosley or somebody that has exposure to the "Latin style" , he'll lose .

 

Mason is the most talented. But none of them strike me as future pound 4 pounders.

 

Well, Xander Zayas is having his first title shot this month, July 25, 2025, against Jorge Garcia Perez for the WBO junior middleweight title. So, if he wins, as expected, he will no longer be a 'prospect/potential'.

 

Geez, this Moton kid only has 8 freaking pro fights. Too soon to rank him next to title contender like Zayas!

 

Yet Zayas will be the first of these guys to win a world title. If he doesn't, then I will give you credit.
