I was going through the archives and was surprised this one wasn't done.

How do these fights turn out?

    Gender:
    Female
    Rocky Marciano
    5'10", ~185–190 lbs
    67" reach
    Relentless pressure fighter
    Brutal short-range power
    Limited footwork, slower hands
Historically fought much smaller, slower heavyweights

    Oleksandr Usyk
    6'3", ~220 lbs
    78" reach
Elite footwork, angles, speed, ring IQ
Olympic gold medalist, undefeated pro champ
Used to beating men 240–270 lbs

    The Fight Simulation (12 rounds)
    Rounds 1–3
Usyk immediately takes control of the geometry.
    Constant lateral movement
    Fast jab snapping Marciano’s face
Marciano struggling badly to close distance
Rocky lands a few heavy body shots when he gets inside, but Usyk is already gone
    10–9 Usyk, every round
Marciano is frustrated early. He’s eating 4–5 clean punches for every one he lands.

    Rounds 4–6
Rocky starts forcing exchanges by cutting off the ring more aggressively.
He lands a couple of thudding hooks to Usyk’s ribs
Usyk is forced to clinch more
But Usyk’s accuracy and speed are clearly superior
Marciano’s face is marked up. Usyk looks calm, breathing easily.
Usyk still clearly ahead (maybe 5–1 Usyk)

    Rounds 7–9
    Rocky finally starts landing heavier.
He hurts Usyk once with a looping right
Crowd erupts — but Usyk recovers fast
Usyk answers with sharp combinations and pivots out
Marciano is tough, but he’s getting picked apart.
Usyk’s punch output is double Rocky’s.
    Rounds 10–12
Marciano is exhausted. His style demands constant forward motion, and Usyk has drained him.
Usyk now steps in and sits down on combinations
Rocky is badly cut and swelling
    Several standing counts (modern rules)

    Result
Oleksandr Usyk wins by TKO in Round 11
Corner stops it — Marciano can’t cut the ring anymore, face badly damaged, taking too many clean shots.

    Why This Is Realistic
Marciano was legendary in his era, but:
He never faced elite movers like Usyk
Never fought men 220+ lbs with Olympic-level footwork
His style relies on walking you down — which Usyk specifically destroys
This isn’t disrespect to Rocky — it’s evolution. Modern heavyweights are faster, bigger, more skilled, and more conditioned.

I definitely agree for the most part but have some quibbles. Walcott and Charles weren't exactly sluggish heavyweights and brought some of the same skills to the table that Usyk uses.

That said I definitely think the heavyweight version wins handily. The cruiserweight version of Usyk vs. Marciano is the fight that seems more interesting.

I just cant see small ass Marciano having success against modern hw... even if the talent pool at HW is very low right now

Thats very insulting to Rock. Gassiev has never beaten anyone to suggest he's on Marciano's level. Walcott, Moore, Charles, all those guys are outclassing Gassiev.

Marciano vs Usyk is the more interesting match-up IF its at Cruiser.

Purely at heavyweight, I agree with everyone that Usyk is the favorite.

But fucking Gassiev is not beating Marciano.

Marciano was a bigger guy than people think. Theres a picture of a non in training camp Marciano standing next to Liston and he looks just a solid and bulky as Sonny -- just a few inches shorter.

Marciano came in at 185-190ish because he trained like an absolute maniac. Possibly the hardest trained fighter in history -- likely OVERTRAINED if we're being honest.

If Marciano was around today with a S&C coach, I feel he could be a solid 210 in the ring. Meaning I'd pick him without hesitation over Wilder.

The thing that makes it an interesting fight especially vs. the cruiserweight version of Usyk is how he handles a guy that's going to come after him with a sustained body attack.

Usyk was hurt to the body by Joshua but he never pressed the attack after he got countered. DuBois legit dropped him in their first fight with a bodypunch but it was called low and Usyk got a chance to recover.

Marciano would snap Wilder like a twig imo.

If marciano was around today he might cut weight down to 168 for a payday vs Alvarez

I think his frame was way too big for 168. Again, he only weighed 185 because his training regimen was unbelievably demanding.

Rock was a much bigger man than Canelo.
