If 'Fimo Wins IMPRESSIVELY, He Will Have Proven to Be a "Fight to the Level of His Opposition" All-Timer....

I will say the if Teo somehow manages to pull it off that’s 3 top southpaws that he’s beaten and upset. Surely a win over Shakur might solidify Teo’s HOF standing.

Yeah, if Teo beats Shakur convincingly he probably gets in the Hall. Three very big wins are usually enough to do it.

He's a sure shot to the hall if he beats Stevenson. Hell, I wonder if he's not one already, based on the fact that he beat Loma (who seems to be loved and overrated by boxing establishment)

Lopez can knock Stevenson out in the first round but i still won't annoint him for canastota. His resumé clearly lacks Haitian frogs like the real iceberg Stevenson or sean jean pascal !

Teo fights to the level of his opponent, so this matchup might well bring out the best of him. His odds on winning are pretty tempting, I must say. If he can crack Shakur on the chin nice and early and build his confidence up, the upset may materialise.

Teo does fight to the level of his opposition, but to be clear -- Shakur is younger and bigger than Loma, and he's flat out better than Taylor.

This "fighting to the level of his opposition" thing is pretty much nonsense. Yeah he did so against Loma (even if it was more of a case of loma blowing up that fight), but Taylor simply is/was not a very good fighter

He sometimes looked great against average fighter, and sometimes looked atrocious. It's a case of him being a very flawed fighter more than anything else.

I changed my opinion on that matchup, I think Shakur outpoints him pretty convincingly

Potential of a big snowstorm hitting NYC on Saturday, although its still premature and forecasters dont yet know enough. IF so, we'll see if that impacts the fight...

I dont like the idea of scheduling major fights in NYC or Atlantic City between the months of December-February, due to the possibility of snowstorms. Vegas/Cali/Texas would get all big fight cards over that 3-month span in a perfect world. But for THIS MATCHUP NYC only felt natural.

Which SUCKS Because NO ONE Will Recall an NYC Snowstorm in a Year or 3...All They'll Remember is 'Fimo vs Shakur NOT Selling Out MSG...Hopefully This HELPS PPV Sales Though...

I think you're severely underestimating how heavily NYC can get hit by snow. We aint some snow amateur city like Atlanta or Charlotte. Cities like that truly do panic with 5-10 cms.

Anything under a foot is par for the course for New Yorkers.

We get 5-10cm and the entire North West grinds to a halt.

Its like JOM doesnt consider that the State of NY itself runs into Canada. Buffalo is one the snowiest cities in North America. NYC doesnt get Buffalo type snow, but we get deep ass snow, make no mistake.

A couple of inches doesnt phase us, and won't have a significant impact on the fight commute.. But if we're talking heavy snowfall, yeah, it'll be a bitch. NYC traffic is a bitch with normal weather conditions.

Yeah, 5-10 CMs doesnt alarm us North Easterners in the US. It's a very normal amount in the winter.

But just this past weekend we got hit with a lot deeper than 5-10cms.

the thing is in north texas all the freeways are ramps and bridges and the tendency for it to be ice is just too dangerous.

ive driven in the snow in the northeast and the ice in north texas seems much more dangerous, not too mention the drivers in dallas/houston got to be the worst in the US.

Whoever wins I think it makes sense for the winner of this fight to be placed at #4 P4P. I wouldn’t even argue Teo being at #3 should he shock everyone again given the guys he’s beaten and the odds stacked against him.

    Agreed.

Honestly now that Bud has retired it wouldn't bother me one bit if the winner of this one is just thrown into the top 3.
