I got Teo here. He’d be up for this one and would see Garcia as a threat the same way he saw Loma and Taylor. I think the hand speed and movement neutralizes Danny, and Teo is in cruise control. DSG could always catch him with something big but I think it’s more likely that Teo is too sharp and too on point to lose this one. Lopez via UD.
Bump. The trash talk and the two fathers fighting would have been a riot to see. I personally think Teo was more talented than Danny but it can go either way quite honestly.
I'd favor Danny with a lot of confidence tbh. Teo has no defense -- even when he's "boxing" he's hittable. Danny is inferior to Teo in terms of hand/foot speed and overall athleticism, but he's better than Teo in the areas that really matter: Technical skill, power, ring IQ, chin, poise, mental toughness... all those areas go to Garcia. Neither one of them is exactly Ray Leonard when it comes to stamina, so that category is even. On top of that, Angel is a better trainer than Teo Sr. Another edge for Danny. I think Danny punches in-between Teo's combos all night, and hurts him/drops him en route to a UD. Maybe even a chance for a late Danny stoppage. Teo was getting countered by fucking BOZOS FFS!
I'm not trying to overrate Danny BTW. Shakur would have also outboxed Danny by a wide margin. He's a terrible style match-up for Danny. But I believe Garcia was better than Teo. He damn sure was better at 140. Wins over Khan, Zab, and Matty Ice take a steaming shit on a win over Taylor.
And a win over taylor shits on whatever garcia did at welter, he did absolutely nothing above 140, his 2nd division
But I'm talking about their careers. If you want to judge their careers look at what each has done in their original division and when they moved up At 140 garcia got a gift on the island to Herrera. He also should have lost to Lamont Peterson. He also looked like complete shit vs an old fat morales
Herrera was Sal Sanchez compared to Kambozos. Danny had his share of close calls too, no doubt. But since we're talking about a fight at 140, Danny should be the favorite. Teo's win over Taylor has aged horribly. Josh beat Ramirez then literally never won another fight.
