Still too early to call this one. Cotto was several levels better than Teo. Cotto was also far better at handling slicksters than Teo. I say its too early because Shakur APPEARS special -- he might go down as a better fighter than Cotto. But we need to know more about Shakur before making an educated pick. Last thing we need to do is jump the gun and fall into recency bias, because at the height of Josh Taylor's peak you had a few guys on here saying Taylor would beat Cotto -- which looks laughable in retrospect. However, if we get into speculation, what I suspect is... I think Shakur is special, and he probably outboxes Cotto. But it damn sure wouldn't be 11-1 like the Teo fight.
I think that Cotto would win a close decision, but yeah, it still too early to make a call on that one
Bit early for this one, but Shakur seems to have that SPECIAL factor as X just pointed out. I’d like to see him in a bit of adversity to see how he handles it before making the call. While Teo is no Cotto, it must also be pointed out that Paulie is definitely no Shakur. If Shakur can take a solid shot, I’d say he has pretty much everything to neutralize everything Cotto does well.
