This would be a classic, I think Frazier takes it. I think Holyfield is somewhat vulnerable to the body and would get worn down from Frazier’s body attack. Maybe Frazier stops a tired and weakened Holyfield late, but I’ll say it goes the distance in a fight somewhat similar to FOTC. Frazier would be pretty busted up as well by the end.

Fantastic matchup and I too would favor Smokin Joe by decision in a bruising affair

I've always thought this is one of the most action-packed mythical match-ups ever.

Indeed. There's plenty more intriguing matchups amongst great heavyweights but this has to be near the top in terms of guaranteed excitement.

When it's been brought up before I picked Holyfield by a narrow margin and i'll stick with it. Evander's ability to handle pressure fighters and more importantly his ability to adapt as rounds go on win it.

This has always been a dream matchup for me. If I had a time machine and could arrange any fight I want, this one would be top of the list. Distance fight for sure, Holyfield in his prime is too tough to be stopped by Frazier. This would be a trenches war. Frazier may get a close decision but Evander could win it too.

Holy crushes small ass marciano. Hes better at every aspect of thr game, and hes bigger.

As fot frazier. Too hard to tell. Gun to my head i probably pick the godwhisperer, but im writing my will during the fight

    1. Holy does NOT crush Marciano at 190. It'd be a very brutal, grueling fight for both.

    2. I'd take prime Frazier over Holy.

One of the big MYTHS about Holy is that he had great stamina. He did not, and people forget that.

Frazier had a rather HUGE edge on Holy in the stamina department, and on the night he beat Ali, I wouldn't be shocked to see him stop Evander circa 13-15.

Not saying you're wrong but the only Holyfield fights I remember him gassing badly in were Moorer 1 and Bowe 3 and for both those fights he fought while being sick. Which other fights had him running out of gas?

Bowe finished stronger than him in both first and second bouts, and also Holmes got into the fight more as the bout progressed

which we all know is convenient nonsense

He was exhausted at times in the Foreman and first two Bowe fights

I certainly wouldn't class his stamina with Frazier who seemed to just go and go

Oh...don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Evander had Frazier stamina either.

ok. Not trying to make excuses but in teh first Bowe fight Evander was more beaten up than gassed and in the second Bowe fight Evander had a stronger 2nd half than bowe, save for the last round. Even in that last round though Evander didn't look gassed to me. But fair enough. Evander didn't have Frazier level stamina, this I agree with.

Holy crushes marciano like a bug. I dont care about the myths around rocky. One only has to look at the tape to see holy was a much much better fighter

Rocky Marciano was a great 190 pound fighter, no matter what JOM says

He's a handful for anybody around that size... Marciano/Holy at 190 would be a titanic fight

    But he's no heavyweight

Hard to say, because Joe's physical strength was ALL natural. Whereas the baby maker's physical strength was due in large part to being on the Canelo/Pac diet.

Marciano doesn't have to be "a heavyweight" to have been able to beat legit Heavyweights. Wilder at 215 could potentially beat a 240 Joshua. If Wilder can potentially overcome a 25lb weight disadvantage, Marciano could potentially deal with a 215 pound guy if the styles are suitable for him.

Tyson and Holyfield had beaten good guys that outweighed them by over 15 pounds. David Haye, Joe Louis, Chris Byrd, Jack Dempsey etc have done it too. Don't be too hung up on weight alone.

The best fantasy HW match up you can get that would’ve been the Corrales vs Castillo of that weight class. I’m still split on this match up although I might slightly favor Frazier more, especially given how guys like Qawi and Cooper have Holyfield a tough time.

I dont see any possible way in Hell that Holy is beating the Frazier from Ali 1.
