This is the Dream matchup many MMA pundits have been waiting for. Chuck has that incredible power and fantastic takedown defense.
Wandy has EVERYTHING, and is as savage as they come, except his stomps and soccer kicks will be nullified by the UFC rules.

Who do you think wins this one""?

It's in the Octagon so Chuck is going to KHTFO now if it was under Pride rules that's a different story.

In the UFC, it's probably in Liddell's favour. In Pride, I'd pick Silva.

Actually, I see this being a stoppage for Chuck, likely a cut stoppage. Silva is a great fighter, but he's not a takedown artist. He's a muay thai specialist who loves to stand u[ and trade as does Chuck. Chuck will have a bit of a reach advantage and a touch more handspeed. I think Chuck gets the bomb to the target more consistently and cuts Silva up.

Why is everyone talking about Lidell vs Silva... the next Lidell match they say is him and Sobral. I'm kinda new at this UFC and having trouble catching up since everyone is so cryptic with their postings about it.

i dont see how the rules are that different..bottom line is that both competitions allow you to fuck someone up

anyhow...chuck will have a size advantage on him....whats he got? 20 pounds?

even that...Wlanderlei IMO has improved as a fighter and his straight quick shots can cause problems for chucks looping slower shots

Chuck uses the cage well to avoid and get up from takedowns....In Pride, when he fought Rampage, he looked lost without the cage to his back

That's why Chuck relied on holding the ropes instead, to avoid getting his ass slammed down. Which didn't save him.:jester:

This will be the first time that Chuck has faced a guy that is just as comfortable on his feet as he is.

Silva works better on his feet, just like Chuck....and not only that, he is the most brutal guy other than Coutre in his prime, that Chuck Liddell has ever faced.

If Chuck wins, I will be convinced that it is a fix for UFC.

Silva gets wild and stupid in there and the one guy you don't wanna get stupid with, is Liddell, cos he's stupider than anyone. His crazy helicopters have a way of landing somewhere on the head and exploding.

The dude has hollow point hands and even though Wandy is the better striker, I think he's going to risk a one-punch KO if he trades with CHuck.

If Wandy sits back and fights an MT fight, he is going to win easy and alot of people will be shocked. His arsenal and variety are light years better than Liddells, but Chuck has the bombs. When you have he bombs and your opponent has the tendancy to trade, you've got a great chance.

The lack of knee's @ 4 point will hurt Wandy, but heaven help Chuck if Silva gets on top. Elbows applenty.

No. Chuck can beat Silva and no one will be shocked if he does. Talk it down all you want, but Silva doesn't have that textbook defence and straight shots, which you need if you're going to beat up Liddell without any trouble.

I think Silva wins and via KO, simply cos he's far more well rounded on his feet and on the ground (where this won't go unless someone is dropped), but there is always the possibility that Wandy gets stupid and has his head taken clear off of his shoulders.

true enough, even though it looked like doom for Lidell whenever Ranpage got him in the corner and finished him off....

If its a boxing match, whether you think he sucks at boxing or not, Chuck will beat Wandy. If they come out fighting, Wandy has the chance at storming through Chuck just like he does to everyone else. Only problem is Chuck can fire back and stop Wandy with one bunch.....

This should be a great f'ing fight

really??? I kinda of figured it to be the other way....Chuck kinda picking his shots here and there, using his reach to keep Silva from rushing him

I think Silva murder's Liddell's legs from range and slips in a few kicks to Chuck's ribs as well. Straight boxing? Who knows. Thats never been Silva's game though. He has more tools and I think he uses them.

yeah your right it happens all the time with silva doesnt it?, good call, shit if any fighter gets stupid they can lose to any other fighter, come up with reasonable way for chuck to win, not some silly shit about someone fighting stupid because that shit can be said about any fight

Silva nearly ALWAYS fights stupid. Its his style to trade and swing wildly when he engages. That to me = stupid. If you need some sort of further explanation I suggest you watch him fight a few times so you get it quicker.

How stupid is he? The man is a beast, who has only five losses in 37 fights against ELITE competition in MMA. He has only been legitimately stopped ONE time by Belfort, eons ago...which at the time was no bad thang.

He drew with CroCop, lost decisions to Hunt, Ortiz and Arona, and avenged his loss to Arona.

How is it that he ALWAYS fights stupid, yet has only been legitimately stopped ONE time?

Silva is as tough as they come. Seasoned, experienced and proven. I will be surprised if Liddell beats him.

Im not sure that I said Silva was some kind of inferior fighter. He's not. He's better than anyone else in THE WORLD @ 205...however, he's not the brightest spark in the bush. He's not perfect and that shis big achilles heel, IMO.

Pick'em fight if it happens. I I the only person who thought Silva lost both fights to Arona? I thought the rematch was a robbery.

Maybe. Who knows. I thought Silva could have gotten his hand raised both times. Arona doesn't do much to win fights.

Belfort beat Wanderlei, who beat Rampage, who beat Liddell, who beat Belfort.:nixweiss:

This fight wont be as one sided (in Wandy's favour) as everyone thinks.
