I saw the midnight UFC show last night, he seems to have a real dislike for Pulver.

I talked to Pulver once and he told me something that surprised me and certainly doesn't seem evident watching on TV. He said Gomi was a huge lightweight and comes down from a healthy 180. I think Gomi's one of those guys who could be very competitive at 170, in spite of GSP's size and genral awesomeness.

yeah, Gomi comes down from 180, but on fight night, GSP is at 180.....GSP probably walks around close to 195-200 lbs

Perhaps. I don't know. GSP might always been in shape and not get that high in weight. Hughes doesn't weigh that much.

Regardless, great fighters can close the gap, esp. if he's got the right styles. BJ Penn will be a tough night from 155-185. He believes he'd still be efforective at 205. Gomi's hands seem as heavy as any of these guys.

i dont know bro.....i bet if you put Gomi and GSP next to each other, GSP would DWARF Gomi

Georges is a big guy. Broad shoulders, pretty big legs....he comes into fights shredded to the bone. He's much bigger than 170 llbs....

I understand what you're saying, but I just dont think its right. THats too big of a gap to close....that and GSP might just be flat out better than Gomi

Sweet. Jens is pretty shot these days. Penn should beat him this time around, I think it will be pretty easy. He just needs to take Jenz down and it's done. He can't stand and bang with him and give him any advantage he may have in striking.

I'm not sure that Jens has the advantage striking....Penn is a great striker

GSP has better hands and defends punches better than Gomi and he's more calculating in seting his shots up. He'd match Gomi on his feet and on the ground. I'd go with St. Pierre by 3 round KO under UFC or Pride Rules.

GSP is awesome but Gomi does walk around at 180+ so it isn't a fight that is too far out there. And Gomi is supposedly coming to the UFC to represent Pride soon. Gomi's lack of ground skills is what would get him w/ GSP. I think Gomi would do very well w/ Nick Diaz, Karo, Sanchez, and some of the other 170 lb guys.

Gomi is fighting Nick Diaz on the next Pride card......For all saying Gomi could handle Georges, this may help to gauge a little
