At 140, Diaz was pretty damn good. His win over Ward was more impressive in my opinion than Gatti's. And he showed that he can go to war inside, and fight a little bit outside too. He should've never moved up to 147. If he hadn't, I think he could've won a title and defended it a couple of times. At any rate, how does he do against Gatti, who at 140, was formidable but far from invincible. I'd pick Diaz. I think he'd make Gatti fight him, and in so doing, would over-whelm him with his strength and work-rate. Gatti's best bet would be to box, as he did Ward, and try to win with his jab and his legs. I don't see it happening though, although it would be his best option. Still, no matter what happens, this would've been an awesome action fight.
Diaz squeeks out a very close decision, in a hell of a fight, with both probably going down. I wished that fight had happened.
you know, ironically, if he had lost the fight to Ward, it's possible he would've gotten the fights with Gatti instead of Ward, who would've been handed over instead to Mosley for sacrifice.
quit your meta-threads. if you don't like it, stay out. oh, and fuck off too while you're at it. there's more to this sport than the PBF's of the world.
Diaz woulda beaten the hell outta Gatti! I agree, Diaz was a damn solid fighter before Mosley, and Margarito ruined him.
ok. but that's not the question. the question is, who would win in a fight between him and Gatti. seeing as how Gatti has lost to several C+ fighters, i'm not sure how your reply addresses the topic at hand.
Gatti only ever beat guys that were old or used up. Anytime he fought a guy even marginally decent that was still in his prime (ie: Manfredy, Robinson), he lost. I'll stick to that tradition and say Diaz beats him too.
