I know we haven't seen much of Hops at 175 but since MM's require imagination , we can use it to judge a Lt Heavy fight between these two .. Who wins :blobbox:
Relax. I make shitloads of typos myself and it is always annoying when people only comment those. It is much of guessing game here as you said since we don't know for sure how well Hopkins would deal with Qawi's punch. The feeling I've got however is that Hopkins is smart and skilful enough to stay off the ropes and steaö points to capture a decision here
Hopkins beats an unmotivated, weight drained Tarver and suddenly he'd school a guy like Qawi at 175? GTFOH! Qawi would maul Hopkins at 175! B-Hop has NOTHING to hold Qawi off with. Spinks was able to outbox Qawi because he had the Jinx to hurt Qawi, and keep him honest, but B-Hop's punches would tickle Qawi and make him smile. Bernard is also used to being physically stronger than his opponents, but that sure as hell wouldnt be the case here. Qawi mauls him, outworks him and wins a clear UD. This Hopkins at 175 bullshit has to stop. Next thing ya know, y'all will be be picking him over Spinks, and Foster at 175. In fact I saw a thread in the MM at Maxboxing where some simps actually were picking him over Foster. Retards!
i agree that Qawi beats him, but let's not discredit hopkins' win over tarver. how do you know that tarver was 'unmotivated' when it was a PPV fight, a career high payday, led by all that shit talking prior to the fight?
Word. And Hopkins very nearly pitched a shutout against Tarver so a guy who wants to "maul" him should be helluva lot better
I think at 175 you're probably right, but i look at it moreso as the difference in work rate than styles. Hopkins has never been an easy guy to bully and overwhelm. Qawi decisions him but doesn't make it look like a train running over a parked car.
Not a big deal, but it should be noted that Tarver made a reported $3 million for Hops, and $5 million+ for the third Jones fight.
Yeah. That's because he spent most of his career fighting middleweights. He NEVER fought anyone as big and rough as Qawi.
If you call Eddie Futch stopping one of the most brutal fights in recorded history in the 14th round with Frazier unable to see anything "quitting", then I suppose he did. But for my money, Frazier had as much courage as anyone who has ever fought.
Antonio Tarver vs. Dwight M. Qawi Nevermind the above title. Qawi beats Hopkins. Hopkins is a great, versatile fighter so I'm sure he'd hold his own and make it competitive though.
