Would the out-come have been different? You're damn right it would. Tito had not lost a fight by the time he faced Vargas, and he would not be denied. Just compare his performance against Hopkins in which he never gave up with his one against Wright, in which he gave up by the 5th round. This makes a big difference.

Also, the Wright who fought Vargas, while he might have been physically closer to his prime than the one Tito fought, was less experienced and still developing what would become his come forward style.

If Vargas could penetrate Wright's defense (and he certaintly did), then there's no doubt Tito could have.

So how do you see this fight playing out? Am I crazy to think it would be drastically different than their fight at 160?

Your logic makes sense but it's difficult to imagine Tito overturning a 12-0 shutout, just because he was undefeated or that Wright wasn't as experienced.

    12-0, suggests that it's simply a styles mismatch...period.

I agree ... Winkys height and style are a bad match up for Trinidad ..

Wright liked to use movement too, not just stay in the pocket with that shell defense. So that would give Trinidad problems as well. Tito's ring-cutting skills aren't the greatest.

I also tend to think that Winky would be a little more conservative, especially once he tastes a good Trinidad shot. He fought aggressively against Vargas, who was a pretty good puncher, but no Tito. So less trading fighting in the pocket and more boxing and moving, with that brilliant right jab.

Wright was just so dominant when they fought, and he has a style to always greatly trouble Trinidad.

    Winky by decision.

It would be closer than the fight that actually took place, but the end result is the same.

Agreed... Winky would STOP Tito this time. He wouldn't keep letting Tito off the hook and looking to conserve his energy like he did when they actually fought.

Nah....Wright at 154 and at that time opening up enough to try to stop Trinidad would have meant giving Tito all sorts of chances to counter and land his own artillery...

Winky would never at any time in his career have engaged in a firefight with Trinidad...especially not at 154, with Trinidad in his prime.

    Peace.

    who is judging the fight?

The judges who scored Trinidad/Vargas or the ones who scored Wright/Vargas because that will change EVERYTHING!!!

It would have been closer but Winky still wins.

    Yeah.

This time Winky only wins 11 rounds and outlands him by just a 3 to 1 ratio.

Trinidad would have won some rounds because he would have had his heart in it and would have kept on fighting. Wink would be more effective, but Trinidad would land some shots and get some rounds on workrate.

Wright by UD still but it would be more competitive.
