I'm normally not big into P4P matchups, but i like this one because of the mesh of styles.

    Who wins?

Pound-for-pound matchups are stupid. Why not simply compare Hearns to a welterweight or middleweight similar to Frazier, such as Bennie Briscoe?

lol@ this comparison. I heard Roy Jones Jr and Derrick Gainer are similar too.

Post like this make me wonder why we even have a mythical matchups forum.

Don't even THINK of trying to convince anyone that you've seen Bennie Briscoe fight.

Well it's obvious you haven't since you're comparing him to Frazier.

Rubio HIV hasn't really watched Briscoe or Frazier fight. He probably took this argument from another idiot on another message board and passed it off as his own.

They were both tough, Philadelpha fighters who bobbed and weaved, were nearly impossible to stop, loved getting into the trenches and had killer left hooks. What other welterweight or middleweight would you compare to Frazier?

Joe started too slow to beat Hearns P4P. Tommy would take him out within 3 rounds before Joe could get a chance to start "smokin". Hearns by early KO.

Why not just have the bout at cruiserweight? Frazier fought down at 190 during his early prime, and Hearns made it up to 190.

In their primes Frazier was a Heavyweight and Hearns was a middleweight. Frazier by kayo. P4P is a crock of shit. How about a MM like Dr. Ike Strangelove if he were 6'5, black, fast handed, great chin, great power, great skin and great stamina versus Ali. You people can't even grasp basic distinctions like weight classes. You motherfuckers are lucky I don't have mod power. I'd IP ban anyone that did a P4P matchup. It is as stupid as dating a hot chick who won't fuck you. It is as worthless as a nice rack on a boar. Bush league shit, shape up assholes. Nevermind, it is Whiskey. Maybe he had a head injury. Leave Whiskey alone, but the rest of you are assholes.

If Hearns didn't get him in 3 Frazier would KHTFO in the later rounds.
If he came in like he did against Ali in their first fight, I think that Frazier would get past the first 3, so both on their best nights, Frazier by K.O.

Now THAT's what I'm talking about!! Instead of all this shit about Bennie Brisco, Philadelphia fighters, and "P4P matchups are crap"...someone around here analyses the fight and gives a good response.

    I agree completely btw....

Hagler usually started slow, but that didn't stop him from sending Tommy down and out. And imagine how much harder Frazier hit than Hagler did.

Also, I propose that this not be a pound-for-pound matchup, but an inch-for-inch matchup. Joe Frazier is 5'11.5" and Hearns is 6'1". Let's imagine that they would both be 6'0.25". Frazier would be a little heavier, and Hearns would be a jr. welterweight. I'd normally go with Frazier, but you guys are right, Frazier did start slow. :slap:
