Don't gimme this shit about Pep winning a round without throwing a punch and being unhittable etc.

The only guy Pep ever fought who had a combination of speed, power, tenacity and stamina of a Manny Pacquaio was Sandy Saddler, and he beat Pep often.

    Pacman gobbles up the ghost!

Saddler was also a massive featherweight with the power of and reach of a lightweight. Also those fights took place when Pep was on the downside of his career and he still won one. Put things in perspective.

Pep had been in an airplane crash, you fucking idiot. And don't tell me that the Pacquiao who fought Marquez had tenacity. Chalky Wright was arguably stronger than Pacquiao at 126, and quite a bit taller. He had tenacity, not Pacquiao, who skimps on training to go to night clubs and shoot pool. This whole topic is another example of you posting something without doing the proper research. Have you ever created a good topic?

At 126 Pacquiao gets enough respect to win a decision.

Maybe in the Philippines, but not in reality. Pep's style is all wrong for Pacquiao.

Pacquaio's style is all wrong for Pep!

All that Willo the wisp shit aint gonna work on the lightening fast, endless stamina, powerful Pacman.

Pacman will run him over and reduce him to roadkill...

Yeah, plus Pep was beaten by less capable fighters than Pacquiao when he was still relatively in his prime. Pep wouldn't have a speed advantage or physical advantage over Pacquiao. Pep had major problems with people who could frustrate him clean punches like Angott, and Pacquiao would land those punches except with more power, and keep it up for the entire fight.

It would be a close fight I just favor Pacquiao's agressiveness and power over Pep's boxing.

Plus Pep was just a plain out pussy who took dives in fights. Pacquiao would never take a dive.

I only rate Pep higher on my all-time list (126-130) because Pacquiao's career isn't over yet.

Pacquiao sure didn't seem to have "endless stamina" against Marquez. I do think he won that fight, but you have to admit that he faded late.
Pep never lost at 126 before the airplane crash, and both of his supposed "dives" are contestable. In both fights, he was past his prime, and he got hit by solid shots.

Pacquiao's 126-pound career is over. How can you rank him so highly at 126 if he only has one notable win in the division? :dunno:

He had good stamina in the Fagquez fight but I think he was affected partially by out of the ring problems that were beginning to surface with Murad Muhammed. It climaxed with the first Morales fight.

I'm also taking into account 122-130 bouts at Featherweight for Pacquiao because I honestly don't think he'll fight at Lightweight. Pep was a guy who jumped from 126 to 130 and back quite commonly even in his prime, so I don't see the problem using a range here.

As for Pep taking a dive, there was an excellent article in the Boston Herald about Pep that I read in Grad school. It talked about all sorts of mob ties Pep had and how he was always in debt to the mob over shady dice games. He was actually arrested in Connecticut during a gambing raid. There's no way to 100% prove he took a dive in any fight, but the same could be said for Sonny Liston in the 2nd Ali fight. When fighters have ties to the mob, I tend to think the worst especially when rumors are widespread.

Pep in the 8th as Manny, in a desperate attempt to get within 3 feet of Pep, trips over his own feet so hard he KOs himself on the ring post.

Who wrote that article? Every time there's a top Italian fighter, people say he's mobbed up. Whatever article you read was full of shit if it said he lost money on "dice games." Horse racing was his game of choice, although this arrest in 1946 is historically accurate.

This is why you're boring. Every time I ask you a legitimate question, you change the subject, like you did with that whole Tommy Watson deal. Either answer the question, or shut the fuck up about it. I think that article is bogus.

Calm down Zachary, I'm just joking.

If I'm so boring, why do you constantly follow me? Why am I in your signature 3 times? Just accept it, for some odd reason I give you a hard on. It's okay though since it's only on the internet but you have to ask yourself why you have these kinds of feelings for me.

I read the article in grad school. That was almost 2 years ago so forgive me if I don't recall every fine detail. From what I remember though, it went pretty indepth about his gambling problems and included problems with betting on horses but also dice games. He obviously had a gambling problem and with the mob so tied into that whole system during Pep's time, it wouldn't surprise me if he did take a dive as many have suggested. It just makes him a pussy and a fraud. It puts a few question marks on his legacy as well.

Bonds admitted taking steroids. Pep was never found guilty of any wrongdoings related to boxing.

When did Bonds make a public statement admitting he roided?

Pep wasn't found guilty but he still has question marks surrounding his career and mob dealings.

He stated under oath to a grand jury that he took steroids, you idiot. Trying to split hairs like this is pathetic. Just go away.
