Well I only know the big name guys. But I could tell you what I think the most impressive training feat of recent times is. Unfortunately I forget the guy's name. But he is the guy who trained Holyfield to fight Tyson. Brilliant! He taught Holy to push right on Mike's center of balance to push him off balance when Mike tried to set. It shut MIke down.

Really difficult to say because you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. I voted for Roach because of his success with Pacquiao and Toney.

Nacho is an absolute horrible manager with no perception of intelligence in that department.
He took a fight for chump change vs JMM agaisnt Chris John in John's hometown, and naturally JMM lost.
Nacho has a screw loose (bad) in management skills, but maybe perhaps Mexico's greatest boxing trainer ever.

I picked other because I think Sdunek has proven over and over again to have the Midas touch with a variety of types of fighters.
I'd guess there are better trainers for different types of fighters.
Sdunek would own strong, slower plodders. (although he's done fine with other styles).
Ingle's style works great for really athletic types.
    Steward for offense.
Nacho for the fundamental mexican style.
    And on and on.
Imo, a trainer is important, but far more important is the fighter. This is why so many dads and countries end up with world-class fighters and/or champions.

I can't in good faith compare that type of effort Turner put fourth with Evander with the likes of what Emmanual has done with Klitchko and Taylor... which to my untrained eye does not seem to be much (especially Taylor).

Yeah I agree I cant see any difference with Taylor's fighting style compared to his old trainer. He's some damn basic. He does not know how to circle, he still over shoots his right and he only throw a jab and a straight rt hand with an occaisional upper cut. Stewart is a great trainer but he God cause only God can perform a mircale on JT's piss poor ass. I'll Holla 5000

I think All Stewart's efforts made it so that in the early rounds Taylor threw maybe 5 jabs he wouldn't have. AS soon as Winky pressed him he panicked and abandoned the jab.

    Roach.

He always has a good game plan but most of all, he reminds me of those old school blood and guts trainers, he gives it to you like it is.

He turned Pacquiao into a two fisted dynamic fighter, and had Dela Hoya listened to Roach, he would've beaten Fraud easily. "The Jab son, don't stop throwing the jab," ... stupid Dela Joto.

Roach has the Most APPARENT Impact on the Fighters he Trains...Manny Pac's the Most Obvious Example...

Peter Manfredo is Another...He was Basically a CLUB Fighter when Roach 1st Got him...

It's between nacho and Roach. Nacho's work with Finito Lopez and the Marquez brothers is excellent. :bears:

Roach really didn't add much to Toney. Toney was already a developed fighter. He didn't help much on his conditioning either which is something Roach is known for.

He did make wonders for Manny and looking a Bobby he also looks to be in similar shape. You can see the same with Vazquez although with less talent.

I honestly never saw that much of manfredo but his performance against Joe probably had to do with the jump in competition.

I also agree that Roger is overrated for training Floyd Jr. who is naturally gifted and was thought the basics and his style by Floyd sr.

I would just like to thank Karl for not putting McGirt on the list of possible choices.

Mayweather Sr because he says so. :dunno:

Joe Goosen seems to have a good impact on the fighters he trains as well.

Freddy Roach is an obvious one due to having success with as many fighters as he has.

Roach has the virtue of seeming to have some control over Toney, I agree that Toney and De La Hoya also to a degree don't need much in the way of a trainer. I don't like the way Roach is in the corner that is my one caveate with him. He doesn't seem to be able to get his veteran guys (Toney, De la Hoya) to shift gears. That could be discretion on his part I mean I wouldn't want to try to tell Toney anything:lol:

The Mayweathers are both deceptivaly good trainers. When you hear Roger talk to Floyd it does not even sound like English, but they do their prep in the gym and Roger has such complete control over Floyd that Floyd seems to trust him and listen to him. That speaks volumes for a trainer. A trainer can be great conceptually but a fighter has to trust him enough to do what he is told in the ring.

Those were the two I was going to mention as well. Goosen always has a good gameplan, and he's excellent at giving instructions in the corner between rounds, the guy is so calm. He helped Mosley do way better against Wright the second time, helped Chico win handily against Casamayor the second time using his height and jab.

Roach for obvious reasons as well. His fighters seem to be in amazing condition/shape , Pac, Tyson(vs. Etienne), and 2003=2005 Toney(until he stopped listening to Roach)
