Final Predictions: Taylor vs. Spinks, Miranda vs. Pavlik & Baldomir vs. Forrest

Taylor by TKO 8...it's a mismatch...but i can see Taylor napping through it, allowing Spinks into the fight to win a few rounds....


Miranda by TKO 6....IN A WAR!!!

 

Tough call for Miranda-Pavlik, and I don't think Jermain is going to walk through Spinks.

Pavlik and Edison are two bad dudes, that much I do know.

 

Taylor by decision in a fight that Spinks makes him look bad.

Pavlik by TKO in a fight where he has to get up off the canvas to win.

 

Taylor TKO 4...don't know the other dudes...

 

Spinks uses better overall skills and defense to easily befuddle Taylor and outbox him to a unanimous decision. Most won't see it this way and will think that since Taylor is pressuring he'll deserve the decision even though he'll miss most of his punches which is pretty much what happened when Spinks fought Mayorga and Karmazin. There is a very likely possibility that one of the judges will see it this way too and cost Spinks his split decision.

As for the other fight, I don't know those guys well enough to make a predicition.

 

:crafty: You'd better hope so Illuminati, I know it'll hurt you BAD if Miranda loses to this particular guy, and then Guzman loses to that other particular guy, to go alongside the losses Ruiz, Cintron and Santos suffered,....DAYUM,.. wont you be OWNED!!!,..:crafty: ..and although I don't particularly 'need' Cotto to suffer a freak loss to his next scrub of an opponent,..I wouldn't mind it being the final piece to a shortcoming OWNAGE that boxing will have rendered over you and your outrageous belief system.

Jermaine Taylor (Proven P4P Number 1) will chase Spinks around the ring and eventually after 9 infuriating rounds that sees Spinks recieves 4 warnings and 2 point deductions for running, Taylor will unleasche a sickening middleweight hook that wipes the rest of Spinks career out, and we must all celebrate it.

 

Is Forrest/Baldomir still taking place? It´s a shame HBO doesn´t make it a tripleheader.

It may be wishful thinking here: Spinks embarrases Taylor. In a fight that the judges finally cannot in any way shape or form give to Taylor it is still a split decision. Spinks by split decision.

Taylor will beat Spinks via unspectacular decision victory in a very boring and ugly fight. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Spinks makes this close. JT didn't look right for his fight against Ouma. Looked very awkward. Spinks doesn't belong at 160 but he's fast enough to make Taylor look bad still.


Pavlik will win via KO I think.

 

I can't see a way Spinks beats Taylor. The only question is if it lasts the distance. I'll say Taylor KO 8.

Miranda and Pavlik are both interesting to watch. I've only seen a handful of fights between them. Miranda has been in there with better opposition thus far and Pavlik's chin is yet unproven. Therefore i'd have to go with Miranda KO 7 but i wouldn't be surprised to see it go the other way.

Pavliks best shot is staying inside smothering Miranda´s punches. If he lets Miranda operate from the outside, where he´ll get leverage on his powerpunches, he´ll beat Pavlik, and that is exactly what will happen.

Taylor is flawed, but the size difference will be too much and Spinks will fight scared, much like he did against Mayorga. Lot of ducking and running, some visits to the canvas in his attempt to avoid contact, but eventually Taylor will get him or win a boring decision.

Pavlik/Miranda - this fight will tell us whether Miranda is just another Mayorga. I look at his win over Green as similar to the way Mayorga was able to beat Forrest. But Pavlik has a chance to beat him just like Tito beat Mayorga. If he stays mid-distance, and relies on his straight punches to beat Miranda's looping shots, he will win in a brutal fight.

I pick Pavlik.

Taylor/Spinks. - Taylor's camp obviously picked Spinks because they want a guy who can't punch so that Taylor can let his hands go and go for the KO. So that's what I expect him to do. But Taylor's not a great counter-puncher. He's not going to land shit that Spinks doesn't see. I think he'll take a decision, but surprisingly will not get the knock-out.
