Unfortunately, Yes. Pavlik has an absolutely terrible chin. Conversely, Pavlik has more power, better punches and Mierda has a suspect beard as well and no defense. I can't wait for this fucking fight.

Actually Pavlik went to war with Zuniga. He was dropped in round 1 and hurt in round 2 but he got hit plenty after that and was OK. He beat the hell out of Zuniga after the first couple of rounds. Pavlik's problem isn't his chin it's his defense.

It's his chin. Mierda has no defense either and he was never stunned by Zuniga level guys.

He's been stunned by someone who is lesser than Zuniga.

Not like Pavlik was. Seriously, I want to be positive. If Mierda wins, I will be sad. I just hope Kelly did his chin ups, that is all I am saying.

Kelly's lack of head movement, his lack of handspeed and abundance of power guarantee's a KO in this fight.

So did Green/Miranda and it was a shitfest. There are no guarantees in boxing.

Green and Pavlik are completely different fighters, with different make-ups. Green had only ever been in one exciting fight prior to the Miranda fight and it was only because he got bombed.

Most of his career was spent counter punching bums on the backfoot. You always had the doubt if he was made of the right shit internally.

I agree with your central point. This should be good. I hope it is.

Getting stunned/hurt by Sherwin Davis is not a good thing either. In fact I would rather be dropped by Zuniga.

What about the JD fight?  :kick:

15 seconds does not a fight make.

Green's rep gong into the Miranda fight was still based in large part on knockout of Codrington, but it'd been two years since the fight and Green hadn't shown that much in subsequent fights (at least not on the positive side).

Frankly, it kinda reminds me of Tua after the Ruiz fight in that it was such a quick and explosive knockout for a prospect that it creates a reputation in a lot of minds that may not be representative of the actual fighter.

Codrington was an unproven prospect, and Green had him all but out after landing the left hook...which was about the first punch he landed in the fight.

You can't read that much into a blowout like that between a couple of prospects.

I agree with you on Green, but not Tua. He was on TV a few times right after that and won all of them via KO and over ranked opponents.

I now have to take you off of the list of people that have never speaken to/quoted/referenced me.

All I meant was that it was an exciting "fight"/knockout.

Yeah, I meant the comparison more in terms of the buzz it generated in a prospect vs. prospect fight (yet being way too brief to show much)...but after KO'ing Wilson Tua had to go deep in a lot of fights to get those other KO's (Izonritei and Maskaev were tough, brutal fight and then he had the Ibeabuchi loss).

Tua didn't exactly prove himself to be "Dempsy, Louis or Tyson" after that fight. (Thank you, Larry Merchant...or was it Lampley?).

Why does anybody think Pavlik is not "World Class'?? I knew he was world class from the first time I saw him on FNF back in 2000/2001:bears:

Congrat's to Pavlik for putting on a great performance and exposing Miranda once and for all!!:bears:

Same with me, he didn't just beat Miranda, he fucking annihilated him, and wasn't in trouble hardly at all. I'll root for either guy in any fight, but Pavlik has the skills and the power to be a monster, and he was all class when it was over.

The only good thing about a Spinks victory would have been Pavlik beating the shit out of him in his 1st defence.
