Kelly Pavlik?? :dunno: Not in a racist tone, but he's white. He's exciting, a KO artist. And seems like a clean cut athlete, not to mention how well he expresses himself. With a good marketing approach he can be in the millionaire club of boxing and maybe cross over to the mainstream. your thoughts?
Yeah, America, the place where you doesn't have to dress like a fucken smurf to be popular. Take abraham's nutsack outta yo' mouth.
Well, I'm sold on his chin.. People can question Miranda's power in retrospect, but Pantera did land some flush shots on Pavlik that would have dropped many, many other Middleweights.
Pavlik IS the Next Star N Boxing...REED Said as Much LAST Week... It's NOT "Racist" to Recognize that Pavlik's Pigmentation can Only HELP to Garner More CASUAL Fans to the Sport... But MORE Importantly,Pavlik is GOOD,he Comes to FIGHT,he has POWER N Either Hand & a Dependable Chin... & To Top it Off,he's Well Spoken,Willing to Fight ANYBODY & N a Weight Class that MOST Fight Watchers can Relate to... The Sky's the Limit for this Cat... REED
False. I have said Mierda is at best an above average puncher. Pavlik's chin is better than I thought but I still think it is bad.
:nono: Miranda was more popular and hyped up than Pavlik could ever dream to be, he was the FEARED wild jungle cat from Colombia, I don't think Pavlik's skin pigmentation matters much except for perhaps in a few trailer-parks if they can scrounge enough cobra skins to shell the cable bill for that particular month, HBO trialed this concept when they put Vitali on PPV,.... .....((BUST!)) :nono: and it's not like people appreciate the heavyweight division either, the media has ceaselessly expressed morbid times interspursed with agony and cries for help,... If anything, it's his power, nationality, and hometown that are going to endear him to a piece of revenue.
I have to agree, Pavlik is a very likable "cat". Very well spoken, humble yet honest. I like the dude. He get's hit way too much to be a consistent force though. I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor expose him. However...I'd be happy if he proves to be the deal deal...because boxing needs a new star.
Pavlik fought a war last night, but really a taller guy fighting on the inside with a smaller guy isn't the best of fightplans, if Taylor takes the Pavlik fight I would pick Taylor to win
Definitely. Taylor fights to the level of his opponent, plus Pavlik is very hittable. I never get caught up in this "you're as good as your last performance" shit that most immature fans do. People have to look at the entire picture.
Jermain is a loss waiting to happen, Pavlik may be hittable, but if Miranda didn't do shit to him, taylor is not Trinidad. Plus he isn't the most accurate puncher out there. He will have to deal with height, power, workrate and chin. I don't see him winning except if they decide to rob pavlik.
I'll reserve judgement until I see him fight a quality guy who is faster then him. Guys like Pavlik, Paul Williams, Tommy Hearns, Tito Trinidad, Chico Coralles always look invincible until they fight an elite, quicker skilled boxer. These are all some of my favorite boxers but you have to be realistic when judging them. Also, Miranda was getting quite a bit more hype then Pavlik but he also fought the much better competition up until this point. Let's see him get a few more quality names on his resume and see how he holds up. It's hard to believe he's going to have any semblence of a long career with his style.
Miranda loops his shots and especially his right, but he did land the right often and even hurt Pavlik early, Taylors right is more straight and faster, I could definitely see Pavlik getting hurt or dropped early and losing a UD to Taylor
He was SLIGHTLY Hurt N Round 2 or 3... Miranda Knocked him Back on his Heels for a Minute... But that was THE ONLY Time he Appeared the LEAST Bit Fazed by Miranda's Punch,N REED's Opinion... REED
I thought Miranda hurt him with some of those rights at the end of the fifth but he recovered well between rounds.
I saw that instance, he seemed to get hit with a good shot, but I don't think his legs were buckled or anything. Maybe I missed something. I usually equate "hurt" with "ready to go down" or "wobbled". Although I do recognize that I saw him get hit good and go on the retreat for a bit.
:nono: It's a chain reaction, and Miranda, despite taking a delightfully vicious arsewhipping, is STILL to blame,....because now that relatively unwarranted hype-baton has been passed on directly,...'Next big star in boxing'.....come on,...:nono: let's not overdo it,.. if we're gunna go a kind've 'linear route', why not something with no room for error, like top p4p status exchanged from Bernard to Jermaine Taylor as an example. Taylor is relevant in this thread because with a bitta guile and savvy, he'll thrash Pavlik's arse, absolutely beat the moth balls out of him.
