That's a 1 sided post. How about the facts that ODLH is much bigger than Floyd. How about the fact he weighed a good bit more and that Floyd has moved up weight classes very quickly. Then again I guess size don't really matter when boxing huh? :notallthere: People can talk about oscar not being in his prime all they want but Floyd mayweather at 154 is not a prime fighter either. I pick a few guys at that weight division to defeat him.

Oh and BTW, Floyd stinks out the joint here and there but Spinks stinks out the joint in every fight. There is no comparison.

4 pounds, are you freaking kidding me? A past his prime DLH, he should have humiliated him with his phoney p4p status :nono:

I guess Jones needs more credit than what I am willing to give him, and I'm a big fan :nono:

So we agree Floyd pulled a spinks on the biggest night of his life, and Taylor gets shit on for NOT fighting a superfight even though I'm sure Floyd influenced him to justr take the W too. If you are going to hate on Taylor who ISN"t a p4p anything, you must hate on Floyd.

yeah but i don't think size really played a part in their fight. i mean, p4p ODH is always gonna be a big puncher compared to PBF. that means PBF is always gonna fight him in the same defensive posture. in a p4p, prime for prime fight, the guy who's gonna do things different is ODH. he's gonna throw more, be quicker on his feet, and have better reflexes. PBF, at his absolute best, isn't gonna look much different.

Idiot. If De la Hoya hadn't been able to bully Mayweather into the ropes, he wouldn't have won a single fucking round.

he sure isn't as good a welterweight as leonard. people act like it is some sort of insult to say mayweather isn't as good as leonard. WHO IS?

Ali didn't show heart in the Frazier I and III...Norton fight?...incredible courage in the Liston I fight...Whitaker against Mayweather, Trinidad, Hurtado..Leonard actually fought..fight..did combat vs. Hearns...Mayweather would run out of the ring..if he had to fight Hearns..

Yeah, and all of them were bigger than Floyd. Size played an part in all of those fights, except for the Hernandez fight. If you think that Hernandez did any "bullying" on Floyd, you simply haven't seen the fight.

....and Floyd had reach on them. That's what really counts, not an afternoon dump.

I'm a huge fan of reach as well, but simple strength allowed Castillo and De la Hoya push Mayweather into the ropes, where he's not at his best.

I don't see Mayweather being dominated by Corley or Castillo by size. Floyd was at his best against the ropes against Castillo 2 because that kept him the furthest away from him as possible as he ran track.

Go back and watch an earlier Oscar fight and then look at him against Floyd. Oscar is bigger and stronger than he was earlier in his career. P4P this prime that whatever. The reality is Oscar was a lot stronger and bigger than Floyd. he still lost though. :bears:

Oscar weighed a good bit more than Floyd when they walked into the ring although he didn't allow walk in weights. ODLH had at least a 10 pound advantage IMO.

No I don't agree with that. Floyd actually landed clean punches and sat down on some of his punches while Spinks was just trying to steal the fight against Taylor.

Floyd was planting his feet and landing power punches all night long. The comparison to Spinks is stupid, even for Fightbeat.

What do you think Floyd was doing by waiting for DLH to get tired and never mixing it up?

Jones was outweighed by Ruiz by a lot. other than that Roy fought a lot of guys taller than himself but the walk in the ring weights were usually about the same.

He wasn't running and trying to BS the judges like Spinks was :nono: Floyd would go to the ropes ODLH would throw BS flurries and then typically Floyd would do his work after that.

 Floyd gets kudos for 4 pounds but Jones gets no credit for 10-20 on MANY occassions. They were taller and bigger but the same, big deal.....do you listen to yourself?
