And he will still smash the smallish Ibragimov. This guy is tailor made for a guy like Briggs who likes his opponents there to be hit. Sultan comes forward and likes to brawl, and that will be his undoing. If nothing else, Briggs can bang with the best of 'em. And I don't think I have ever seen a guy under 6ft 10 that carries that much weight and looks that fit.
I tend to agree.. I saw the weigh-in photos and Briggs looks remarkably imposing.. He does carry 273 well.. I don't think Ibragimov has anything to keep Briggs away..
Ibragimov is the favourite at -200 at thegreek.com. Surprising because I have yet to meet someone that confidently picks Ibragimov to win.
All Ibragimov has to do is to throw 10 punches per round and run for the rest and he wins easily. If Briggs takes more than five steps in a round or throws more than five shots, he will get exhausted. And it is not like he was some explosive puncher either. Liakovich got careless and Briggs caught him with a good one, that was all
Briggs STILL had the power to KO Sergei in the 12th round though. He is dangerous until the fight is over.
Shannon Briggs is extremely underrated, he proved in the Liakovich fight that he's actually quite a brilliant counter-puncher, I expect him to go straight after Ibragimov in the first round with his lightning quick tree trunks, and if Ibragimov manages to survive, :crafty: which I seriously doubt he will, all Shannon will have to do is stand back and time him, and the KO will come, it'll be an easy, easy victory for Shannon, and I don't expect Sultan to win a round.
Briggs is on steroids heavy. Don't expect this fight to be exciting. Briggs, like he did against Sergei, will lay back and look to counter with his left. If Sultan can barrell in and make Briggs fight, without getting hurt, he will almost certainly win since Briggs has shit stamina. And I think that's what he should do. Get close to Briggs so he doesn't get hit with stuff outside. Sergie wouldn't do that and he paid dearly.
Do you guys think Briggs could splatter Ibrigamov's brains all over the canvas? I do. I'm cracking up just thinking about it right now.::
Sergei was scared as soon as he felt Briggs' power. I suspect Sultan will also not want any once he tastes the power.
Same here. I never thought he was a bum, I've always liked Briggs. He just goes out and tries to kill guys until he tires.
i know. but he put himself at worse risk by languishing outside and allowing Briggs to time his attacks. he should've just jabbed in the 12th round - I'm pretty sure he would've won the fight. he had to have realized how tired he was.
True, Sergei definitely didn't fight smart in that fight. He had to know Briggs had serious stamina issues and he didn't take advantage of that. Being the smaller more moblie guy you would think he would just peck and move to a decision.
Briggs might die halfway through this fight. He almost did after he kod Sergei. It took him like 10 minutes to get his breath and actually celebrate the win.:: If he doesn't ko Ibragimov he will collapse in the ring.
