Henry's decent, nothing special, but better than your average pretender. I was a judge for one of his fights, last year in my hometown. He fought some can, but of the 6 fighters on the card, he was the only one that showed any promise. Rod Willis was also on the card, but has since been exposed. He gets props for taking on 6'7" heavyweight Rafael Pedro on short notice. Pedro sucks, but due to his size alone, other fringe heavyweights have shown reluctance when offered the fight. I think Henry will wind up as a best of the rest type contender
I was iffy on him after the Whitaker fight. But now, facing a MUCH bigger heavyweight, he could prove doubters like myself wrong. I think you should have focused on his upcoming fight a little more, Karl. I know I'd like to read it. One of your better pieces.
Thanks Arben, I did have more but didn't save it and lost it Wednesday and had to retype two thirds of it at work, and I explained that to Cameron Park, his promoter. He whipped Rafael Saturday night, giving away 58 pounds. http://www.fightnews.com/spurlock105.htm Here is Byron Spurlock's piece on the fight, I was unable to attend due to a prior commitment.
Where did you hear that he "whipped" Pedro? I heard that it was a dirty fight throughout, and even through seven rounds, at least on objective scorecards, before Pedro ran out of gas (typical Pedro, whose stamina actually rivals Shannon Briggs for shittiest in boxing). I guess we'll never know, as nobody even seems to know what the official scores were. Anyway, it was a smart move by Henry, who made a lot of heavyweights look bad by taking, and winning, that fight. Question is, how many fringe 175 lb. guys will now be willing to face Henry?
I think I'm world ranked :: Nice work Karl. If I'm ever a pro boxer, I'll want you to write something about me. You make this guy seem like a badass.
well cupey wrote an article about me and made it seem like i beat up some washed up lawyer who didnt know how to throw a punch.
