No really...How can you people rate him as the second best heavyweight in the world?? What did this fat slob ever do? He beat a fat old Toney? Big deal some BUM just arguablly did the same thing? Plus most people felt he lost to Toney in the first fight. Ok that's one thing he's done..what else? Oh ya the highlight reel KO over Jeremy Williams..who may be half man half amazing but he fully sucks! Peter got SCHOOLED and i capitalized every letter in the word schooled cuz every letter deserves to be capitalized to trully understand. -Two bogus fouls who were called wrongfully knockdowns and one where wlad was retreating and got put on his ass he did NOTHING..The only things this fat ass has going for him is his good chin and good but nothing special power..everybody is saying how easily he will ko oleg but think about it i trully don't think this bum hits as hard as rahman even and oleg took rahman's best..If Oleg slugs it out he may get cought..If Oleg boxes he wins..peter sucks...forget the highlight reel ko against williams. the division needs a savior but this fatass ain't it.

Well maybe the fact that Peter has proven more than most everyone in the top ten. He hasn't been KO'd yet and the rest of the top ten suckass. I'm not even sure if I've even seen one of his fights yet, but he's at least pretty consistent. He may lose occasionally but he doesn't win one day and get KO'd the next or lose to nobody's like some guys in the division I know. So yes the division is so bad that consistency will net you #2.

I think some people around here are obsessed with big black peters. That's the real problem.

Maybe it's because while he lost to Klitschko, he did so by a slim margin. The main knock against him was the fact that he was easily kept away (for the most part). Then he goes and fights Peter and gets out-boxed and frustrated. People think he made no improvement, and they were right. After that, he goes into the rematch with peter and out-boxes him.

While Klitschko has looked very good his past few fights, Peter was the one that has shown improvement. That's why people want to see a rematch.

Oh and he's ranked #2 because EVERYONE ELSE FUCKING BLOWS.

    seriously, who's obsessed with Peter?

i change the question, why is the starter of this thread so obsessed with that pussy from Poland?

at least Peter has a significant win or two over Golata's zero wins in a meaningful fight.

How has he proven more than anyone else in the division? Explain this. By barely beating a decrepid old overweight Toney who just barely won a split decision against no hoper Danny Batchelder? KO ing Julius Long? Going the distance with Shufford?

wlad didn't school him! he fought like an absolute puss! and still he barely won!

and lots of people picked toney to beat him - so he's at least better than many gave him credit for.

Wlad absolutely schooled him. He made Peter look like an amateur. And yes, 2 of the KD's were sloppy clubbing KD's that were illegal.

if you call that a schooling then you have a very different definition than mine as to what that means.

i'll agree that he neutralized Peter to a great extent. but he did so through illegal and incessant holding that for some reason was allowed to occur.

and in so doing, Wlad demonstrated that he no longer fights to win, but in an effort not to lose. incidentally, you'll find this is a common thread among HBO fighters who simply have too much to lose to worry about winning.

uh, he fought to win. do you expect a heavyweight w/ a shitty chin to fight like morales against a murderous puncher?

also, wlad had peter out on his feet in the 12th round. you should've seen peter's face after the fight. it was a fucking mess.

Klitschko clearly beat him, and I thought Toney beat him in the first fight.

I don't see an obsession with him, but some of the feigned outrage over him possibly waiting one more fight for a title shot while Vitali Klitschko enforced a right that was granted to him by the WBC seemed completely over the top.

the outrage had nothing to do with Peter personally - it was due to the preferential treatment that Vitali was obviously getting as he attempted to cherry-pick his way back to a title. no part of the right granted Vitali by the WBC involved dislodging fighters from title shots they've clearly earned.

I disagree about it being over the top, considering that the WBC already made him fight TWICE in an eliminator in the first place. Klitschko retires with a golden hand shake and that isn't grounds for annoyance? Personally, I thought what the WBC tried to do was indefensible. Most agreed.

I didn't say my opinion was the majority.

The eliminator was a joke since Toney fought in it as a way of avoiding over a million dollar pay day to fight Klitschko for a title fight. As for TWICE...most at ringside had him losing to Toney...many thought it was very clear.

There should have been a bigger outrage over that decision than the WBC's to allow a retired champion to fight for the title...especially when it was well publicized that the WBC gave him Emeritus status at the time they gave it to him.

The eliminator was a joke...between two recycled heavyweights...one of whom (Toney) was clearly diminishing and wanted no part of Klitschko and the other had already lost to Klitschko....decisively.

If it was illegal, he would have got a warning for it. And if he doesn't fight to win? Why did he win his last 3 fights by dramatic KO???

He scored 3 knockdowns, was OUT in the 12th and still lost by 3 points.

For the final knockdown, he stood on his foot and shoved him.

And that was Wlad barely with his confidence back. Peter will never get a better chance.

    I agree ... Peter is a B-class fighter at best ...
The thing is though he can still make noise because the only thing out there right now is the same level he is ...

I don't like your racially motivated posts. WTF does Wlad have to do with Ibragimov?

Why complement Boxing 4 Red-neck's brand of reverse-racism with your own version of good old traditional racism?

the only reason the fight was close was because of the knockdowns. Honestly, I had the fight 9-3, meaning Wlad won every round that he didn't touch the canvas.

It's hard to gauge whether or not Peter improved any. It took him two tries to convincingly beat an ancient out-of-shape Toney, and only looked impressive in the 2nd fight.

He really hasn't fought anyone else that can truly determine his skillset. But that said, I agree with your reasoning that he's a top heavyweight by default.
