I thought Erik was done. Is this him further cashing out? It'll probably be a PPV.

It's just an oportunity for him to make history by becoming the first Mexican to win a tittle in 4 divisions.

I have never seen David Diaz so as washed up as Morales is, it's hard for me to predict the outcome.

    Great call on Morales.
He is trying to salvage his historical pride in Mexico and gain a measure of redemption for that Pacquiao humiliation.
Diaz is a real short southpaw, not a lot of power, but busy and he's in shape.
Erik sure is washed up, and should have quit after the Pacquiao fight.

Diaz is the easiest mark at 135, and physically, he's short for a light-weight. And he's the type who is willing to brawl, but doesn't have the power to knock out a guy like Morales.

Still, I won't be surprised if Morales gets knocked out. Diaz is tough. He took a shelacking from Santa Cruz and came back to win. If he can handle what Santa Cruz dished out (who has a win over Cherry - a brave win unlike Paulie's), it's likely he can handle Morales' dwindling power at 135.

David Diaz, you mean. You can't just say "Diaz" when referring to a lightweight, these days

He tried to fight fire with fire in that fight and got outgunned. Nothing humiliating about it. Probably could've tried to last the distance but he went out like man. And the guy doesn't have to "salvage" his pride...he has more than enough to be proud of already.

I get tired of all of the disrespect. I know most of the people on here are children...you are a grown up who is somehow involved with boxing and should know better.

First of all, the guy should not have accepted a rematch with Pacquiao.
Anyone that knows boxing knew he should have bolted while he was ahead.
Taking the count when you could have gotten up, yes, is humiliating.
As I have stated here before, Erik is one of the best fighters of the last twenty years, but judging by his actions before and after fights, and accepting Manny again twice when he should have quit while he was ahead, I have my suspicions that Erik is "Not the sharpest tool in the shed" upstairs.

This is a great fight for a winner fighting Juan Diaz setup. If Juan could get a fight close to the same date it would be perfect.

I'm tired of PPV...this ppv tonight was my last...unless it's Pacquiao vs. Soto,Guzman,Marquez II, Valero...or Cotto vs. Margarito,Mosley,Mayweather....and most of those don't belong on PPV..anyways....but i'll order..

Hopkins vs. Winky....and....Marquez vs Barrios...get the fuck out of here..:notallthere:

Maybe if they put...Gatti vs. CHavez jr in the under....then it might be worth it...but NO...HBO will probably make a PPV out of Chavez Jr fight w/ Gatti..:flip:

As much as he is the poster child for average, David Diaz is not without a huge chance of winning this fight. Morales is far too hittable at this point in his career.

It says alot for the state of the game when a fighter who lost three straight, four of his last five, and was stopped in his last two can get a title shot in a division he never ever won a fight in.

I say it is ye out there who continue to buy PPV's that are the cause of the big PPV trend. Boycott I say! Boycott! IMO it just doesn't make financial sense to pay 45 bucks for a fight you can see for free a week later. Once I came to that realization, a whole new world opened up for me.

I beg you all, stop paying for this shit! Or for the love of boxing at least learn how to steal it.

I was looking at the WBC rankings, they had David Diaz as some sort of Superchampion with Casa as a interim champion. When did this shit happen?

Morales looked like shit in the third Pacquiao fight because he was overweight and had to lose it all before the weigh in,he had nothing left for that fight.I don't think he's as shot as people think,I feel his problem is staying in shape to make weight safely.
