Ali - he fought in the black & white era , then when color film came out , he still was able to dominate these color film fighters even though they had all the advantages of color film ...
This is completely unheard of ....

John Ruiz, he was litterally godly for a while, and all he had for himself was insane toughness and belief in himself, plus a deadly sneaker. He won all his big fights by outwilling his more talented opponents and wait for the moment he could land his patentended right hand, A.K.A., the sneaker.

LaMotta was actually known for being a pretty skilled fighter who could slip punches well. The movie made it look like LaMotta was a hard hitter with no defense, but that's not the type of boxer he was really regarded as.

  Rugged and Crude LMAO ...

I guess you have never seen LaMotta fight ...
LaMotta was a more technical sound , on the inside then James Toney.
He rolled smoothly against in-coming punches. He was a master at ducking , slipping and rolling with punches ...

Are you sure we are even talking about the same person here ?
Are you sure you don't have LaMotta confused with someone else ?

    Apparently, so too did LaMotta.

I'll tell you.....you don't have like 90 fights back then, against the guys he fought, and live to be 80+ yoa, and be able to think and speak clearly, if you didn't have at least SOME defence.:nono:

Yeah, I have Lamotta confused with the guy who was beaten half to death against Robinson.
Lamotta was decent inside at times but James Toney? No Way, the guy had major flaws but his toughness bailed him out.

His toughness bailed him out ?? Yeah he was tough , however that was all skill ... Bro , he was one of the most skilled fighters to date ...
"Decent inside at times" LMAO , as if you know about this shit and his fights ...

To bring up Robinson shows that you really know nothing about LaMotta.
He beat Robinson and knocked him straight though the ropes and there were also a few SD's that most people thought LaMotta should have won ...
You bring up the last Robinson fight where not only was LaMotta way past his prime , but he was drunk as well. Even fuckin Sugar Ray knew this ....
Only someone with no other knowledge would even bring that up as any kind of argument ..

If you intend on trying to argue that LaMotta had no skill , you sir are fighting an uphill battle that you are sure to lose ...
I'm still convinced you have never seen him fight other then some bullshit Robinson clip.
So tell me , what fights did you see ?

    cmon thats not nice.

saying lamotta is one of the most skilled fighters to date, would be like saying pernell whitaker is one of the hardest punchers in history

I'm not going to go the CYC route here but there is no shame in being beaten up by Robinson. LaMotta had plenty of skills, just not on the level of Robinson.

The guy only had 30 knockout his whole career so he must have had some boxing ability. He wasn't a skilless banger like Graziano who relied more on his power and most definately deserves to be in this category.

    No its not ...
When LaMotta fought Robinson , even though the fights were all somewhat close Robinson made him look bad ...
However , if you have ever seen othe LaMotta fights , you would know his skill level ....

I agree ... These guys need to see more of LaMotta rather then some bulshit youtube clip of him Vs Robinson ...

The route they are taking , they might as well say Marvin Hagler had no skill because he lost to SRL
