Otis Griffin to fight Danny Green in Australia in July

Griffin hits road

Sacramento light heavyweight Otis Griffin (18-1-2, 7 KOs), who defeated a previously unbeaten opponent in April for the North American Boxing Organization title and breezed to a tuneup win last week at the Radisson Hotel, has accepted a July 18 fight against top-10 world contender Danny Green (23-3, 21 KOs) in the latter's hometown of Perth, Australia.

Griffin, according to his manager Nasser Niavaroni, will receive a $50,000 purse for the 12-rounder, which will be for the International Boxing Federation's Continental title and a potential shot at the IBF's 175-pound championship.

I like Danny, he's probably my favourite domestic fighter, but he's sooo one dimensional and mechanical that I doubt he's going places the rest of his career, he's ruggered and tough, possessing a good chin obviously,...I think your best bet Oates, is to devise a plan with alot of movement and hammer those glass ribs whenever you can, Danny's reactions to bodyshots are quite telling, he's as hard as nails up top but he can't bare it to the body, that's the sweet bit, if you can dance around his train track and keep whackin' the middle of the carriage you oughta derail him, I'd avoid brawling with him head-on if I were you, fight smart baby, and best of luck :cheer: .

 

I've never seen you fight 3OG, but that's an awfully huge step up you're making. Danny Green is a very good fighter, if you beat him, you'll be in the elite of the division. Here's hoping that you're gonna pull the upset!!!:bears: :bears:

I can definately see 3OG winning this one. I was never that big on Green. He's still living off of that one fight where he should have come out as a champion, and has done virtually nothing important since.
