i watched that borefest on the undercard of toney-ruiz at the garden. it wasnt televised in the US. why would anyone even bother to get this fight on tape, i dont know.

Right now, Evander is just a smaller, lighter-punching Briggs. And he probably has less stamina than Briggs..

I was a huge Holyfield fan, but this fight is a crime on two fronts.. First, an aging Holyfield takes a beating he doesn't need to take. Two, the lousy Ibragimov gets a name on his resume that he absolutely doesn't deserve...

 

There are a lot of guys out there who got names they didn't deserve. What's worse than Iron Mike Tyson getting retired by KEVIN f*cking MCBRIDE of all people????

 

I know.... But it still seems wrong to me...


Hell, the late, not-so-great, Trevor Berbick actually got to brag about beating arguably the greatest HW ever...

As I said, to me that is the biggest crime in aging fighters hanging around too long..

 

You know what's really bad about it? A lot of kids out there trying to make an argument tend to look online to sources like boxrec for a fighter's list of competition WITHOUT ever having seen footage.::
So it doesn't matter if Holyfield or Tyson or Ali were shot or not, all that matters is they got owned by bums and it hurts their reps overall.
A perfect example of this was an old fightbeat poster named SNAGGLES. The dude, without having seen sh*t, used fights like Ali/Berbick to make a case for how Ali would've been butchered by so and so fighters whom he jock-rode.
