:dunno: Can he beat Casper....? or Castillo? :dunno: Who is Malignaggi first defense against..who is his mandatory? Demetrius or Ngoudjo....?
Hatton - Malignaggi could possibly be one of the worst fights to be made in boxing. There would be more clinches then punches thrown.
i'm sure castillo, having defeated hatton, would gladly take Paulie on. and beat his face in. Paulie seems like a cool guy but his style is just horrible to watch. it'd be nice to see castillo time his ass and freeze him.
I think Hatton would have a better against Malignaggi than Castillo. Hatton's a little quicker on his fight, and he can get close and work the body of Malignaggi and wear him down. Hatton is more adept at making his openings and will not be deterred for twelve rounds. Castillo would have a harder time catching up to Paulie, IMO, though if he were able to get close he could certainly do damage with his left hook.
Indeed... Paulie won't have to worry about Hatton.. After Castillo brutalizes him, Hatton will be reduced to fighting two-bit pub brawlers in Manchester..
We still have yet to see how much Castillo has left. The Castillo of a few years ago, like the one who gave Floyd trouble I.E., would certainly give Paulie a beating, but I doubt he's that same fighter now so Paulie would have a chance.
Stylistically, Malignaggi would B a Tough Fight 4 EITHER Hatton or Castillo... REED Probably Wouldn't FAVOR Malignaggi N Either Bout, but he's a LIVE Dog N Both... REED
malignaggi isn't a live dog in a fight with either guy. I started to say Malignaggi has gotten props from a defeat ala Razor Rudduck "however" that would be a slap against Razor Rudduck. Malignaggi takes another ass kicking against either guy.
Hatton Probably, but Not Castillo N REED's Opinion... The LAST Thing Castillo Needs these Days is a Quickhanded,Mobile Cat that WON'T Engage w/him... Castillo Might EVENTUALLY Catch Malignaggi, but REED Thinks Malinaggi would "Win" MORE Rounds,if Unimpressively... REED
Malignaggi is better than most want to give him credit for.:nono: He isn't exciting to most because he doesn't KO guys. But his style will be hard for anyone to beat. Cotto is the only one to catch up with him so far and Cotto will be considered one of the best of this era when its all done. Paulie just pitched a shut out against a World Class fighter in N'Dou and put him on his seat which none of you would have guessed before it happened. I'm going on record right now saying that I think Paulie would take Hatton in a UD. He has a great jab and it would be the perfect medicine in keeping the Hitman from his clinching and dry humping. Double L is right, Castillo does have the skills to time Paulie and catch him, but I think it is better said as DID have the skills. I think Castillo is on the downside of his careerld: and Hatton humps out a boring victory against him.:shit:
i know for me i definitely under-rated Paulie. i didn't think he'd be able to deal with N'dou at all the way he did. still, it bothered me how quickly the ref broke them and clearly it benefited Paulie. i mean, what if the ref stopped the action everytime the two fighters didn't touch for more than 5 seconds, claiming "non-fighting." clearly that would've favored Lovemore. imo, a ref's job is to warn fighters for holding, but not facilitate it by breaking the fighters. if the ref breaks the fighters everytime someone holds, then all Paulie needs to do if he gets cornered or, the ring gets cut-off for him is grab. then the ref resets things just the way Paulie wants em. Paulie's smart enough to realize this. i wonder if he feels guilty about it - or if he feels his win is somehow tainted by it. still, i guess lovermore's corner didn't complain.
Malignaggi could decision Hatton. At least in the US. In Manchester it is unlikely. I don't really like Paulie much, he's always annoyed me far more than he entertains, but he's actually pretty sharp. He is banking on Hatton's style being just right for him, and on Hatton's decline, and I think he's right. I think Ricky Hatton is just now descending from his prime, and is at a perfect stage to get beat wherein his conqueror would still get piles of credit for it. I think the up-and-down weight between fights coupled with Hatton's burnout type of style leaves him very beatable at this point. If Hatton slows down just 10% he loses a much larger part of his fight game since it is his perpetual, unflinching pressure that allows him to gut out fights where he may not be the better skilled fighter. Against Malignaggi Hatton would need to fight 12 hard rounds and never let up in order to win. I don't think he can do it, and I thik Paulie's style will frustrate him. Also I grudgingly give Paulie credit for getting his skull smashed in against Cotto and still finishing the fight. Malignaggi is an extremely live dog against Hatton. But Hatton will lose to JLC thus rendering this matchup unlikely anyway.
Malignaggi vs Hatton is the same situation as Paulie vs Castillo. If we were talking about the Hatton of a few years ago, I'd say that Paulie would stand no chance whatsoever. But we'll see Sat night for sure if Ricky has truly slipped or not.
