It's RARE when a Fight btwn 2 "Promising" Young Fighters is a BAD Thing...Generally, it's APPLAUDED when 2 Prospects RISK their Future's by Facing EACH OTHER...

On PAPER,Dirrell vs Stevens was a Win-Win Situation for BOTH Guys, but N the Ring,it was Lose-Lose All the Way...

REED Hates when the Use of DISTANCE & FOOTWORK is Called "Running"...Pernell Whittaker WASN'T a "Runner":nono: ...Floyd Mayweather RARELY "Runs"...

    Last Night,Andre Dirrell RAN....

It's as if him & his Grandfather Sat Down & Said, "Let's B as DULL & UNentertaining as we can Possibly B"...If that WAS their True Intent, the Plan was Executed PERFECTLY...

Seriously,Dirrell has ALWAYS Appeared to LACK a Fightplan, when REED has Seen Him Fight...He'll Come Out & Work on the Latest Moves he's Borrowed from the Roy Jones Highlight Reel,Switch from Orthodox to Southpaw & Back, for No Apparent Reason...He'll Talk to his Opponent,Stick his Tongue Out & Showboat...

It'd B NICE if he Occassionally Mixed N a GENUINE Effort to Dispose of his Opponent,as Quickly & Impressively as Possible...

Andre Dirrell is TALENTED & ATHLETIC Enough to Fight MUCH Better than he Did Last Night....Not Sure if he was SCARED or just UNWILLING to Do that Against Stevens...

On Stevens' Behalf,Yeah,he Pressured Dirrell Throughout, but is he FOREIGN to the Concept of Cutting Off the Ring??:dunno: ...He FOLLOWED Dirrell like Tabloid Papparazzi...

These Guys Gave HBO NOfuckingREASON to Bring Either of them Back...& Dirrell & Stevens have Noone to Blame but Themselves...

    I agree, terrible fight.
I really don't care to see either guy again on tv.

Did you guys hear Dirrell repeating, "I got paid like a motherfucker!" shortly after the fight eneded?

You can hear him sayingt it to someone in his corner.

I didn't really consider this a true prospect vs. prospect fight coming in because despite Dirrell's many flaws, they were at two very different levels.

Stevens is just an over-hyped NY prospect who's been given a ton of exposure (given his ability level) because of the circumstances he's in.

I think that's probably why the fight was made....and that if the people around Stevens thought he was truly an elite prospect he likely wouldn't have been fighting Dirrell this early on.

He's got two losses, but he's young, so I'm sure he'll go back to being protected on the NY/Broadway Boxing circuit and after he wins a few more fights he'll likely be back in some form or another.

Yet when Fraud Mayweather says it, after stinking the fucking joint out, it's cause for celebration!?. :dunno: No difference, but if hypocrisy bothered a Fraud fan we'd never see them on messaegboards.

Only a COMPLETE HATER Would even ATTEMPT to Compare ANY Floyd Mayweather Fight to Dirrell's "Performance" Last Night...

Take Floyd's Most BORING Performance EVER & it Looks like a VINTAGE Arturo Gatti Fight,by Comparison...

Floyd might fight defensively against bigger guys but he don't do anything like what I watched last night. Dirrell is garbage.

    :nono:

Mayweather more often than not fight like Malignaggi fought last night(getting good distance, not too close, but not too far and countering or lead w/ punches, and not be there for the opponents counter)..than Dirrell....Andre was fucking running at time, he look like DLH in the last 4 rounds against Trinidad...

Dirrell has never impressed me. He's one of these new breed of fighters who is talented enough that they believe they can fight "not to lose". One punch at a time, run, run, run, hold when you need it...and simply avoid everything coming back. No desire whatsoever.

Stevens? Well, he just isn't any good. No suprise there. For me, this was more about confirming what I had always suspected about Andre Dirrell.

I dont think Stevens should cop too mch blame. He was simply outclassed and didnt have the skills to cut the ring off.

He wouldn;t throw to the body nearly enough. He certainly deserves some blame for not letting his hands go enough.

I'm glad I only watched Cotto-Judah replay last night. This fight seemed like an abomination, and Malignaggi Ndou seemed pretty boring as well.

:nono: Uh uh uh uh uh Reed please,..Apples and Oranges,...Fraud still stunk the joint out, cheated the fans, then bragged about how much money he stole/made afterwards, it's virtually the same felon, actually it's worse for Fraud as the obnoxious twat is STILL telling us "he got paid like a motherfucker", but most shockingly, your eye sockets stay firm and determined, no rolling has ever been witnessed when this subject is specifically alligned to Fraud, even though the oppurtunity has presented itself countless times in countless threads on the matter.

Yeah, but he can't be blamed for being in over his head. On cable, he should be a Shobox undercard at best.

    Whatever:rolleyes: ...

DeLa is BIGGER & STRONGER than Floyd...MORESO,Floyd MOVED UP to Fight DeLa for HIS Title on HIS Terms...

AND,while Being Defensive,Floyd NEVER EVER Blatantly RAN to the Degree that Dirrell Did Last Night:nono: ...

    Against a Guy 6 INCHES SHORTER,Nonetheless...

REED Couldn't Care LESS about who HATES Floyd OR WHY...That's YA'LLs Prerogative YA"LLs Business...But N YOUR Particular Case,U CONSISTENTLY Come Up w/THE FLIMSIEST Reasons to HATE on Floyd...

Again,Floyd's DULLEST Performance EVER was CONSIDERABLY MORE Offensive Minded than Dirrell was Last Night...Floyd vs DeLa was CONSIDERABLY MORE Offensive than Dirrell Last Night...

No not the flimsiest of reasons,..

If one had to match the following description, to an 'elite' fighter in boxing,..

~"Runs, and stinks the joint out, then brags about his pay cheque and general wealth afterwards"~ ...

Floyd Mayweather, would immediately pop up in most peoples thought bubbles, :nono: yet your screeching like a Pirahner and trampelling like an elephant on this ball-straining issue, when if you'd please, relieving the tension on the multiple offender would insert a little angel dust on a more productive outlook, you shouldn't beak-nibble a flea, when your on the entire ox, it is myopic at best :nono: .

    That's just It....

U Can Point Out SOME Instances where Floyd COULD have Been MORE Offensive Minded, yet & Still he EXHIBITED his OFFENSIVE Superiority N those SAME Bouts...

Again,REED just CAN'T Fathom How YOU can Draw a COMPARISON btwn Dirrell Last Night & ANY Floyd Mayweather Bout...

U RARELY Make Sense as Is...N THIS Instance,U're Making even LESS Sense...

I imagine Stevens management took the fight because they thought he could knock Dirrell out. he had been dropped pretty hard by a mexican bum afterall. Regardless, Stevens could have tried harder. For a guy who talks so much shit he fought like a bitch.

And the sad part is, everytime he threw to the body when Dirrell skirted along the ropes he landed.

Yeah, but that knockdown wasn't as bad as getting knocked cold by Marcos Primera...that loss is about as bad as getting knocked out by Andres Ledesma.

 Yeah that was a bad loss. I guess on the bright side he won the rematch but losing to Primera in the first place is a joke.

Yep. That was the only joy I got out of last night's fight. And of course, his post-fight excuse for not cutting off of the ring and essentially doing nothing at all was "Dirrell came to not get hit". That part is true - but it's up to the opponent to do something about it.

Dude is stuck. Too expensive for the Broadway Boxing circuit (which is why DiBella announced his previous fight as "the last on this series") and too shitty for prime time.

That scenario is enough to make up for having to sit through that garbage last night.

He said it at the 3/22 Broadway Boxing show, that Stevens and Dmitry Salita (both of whom fought and won that night) have graduated from the series. Though I'm sure after last night he's reconsidering that one.
