Golden Boy Promotions has officially announced the PPV undercard of Hopkins vs. Wright "Coming to Fight" on July 21 in Las Vegas. As reported a few stories down, undefeated WBO Interim lightweight champion Michael Katsidis (22-0, 20 KOs) takes on Czar Amonsot (18-2-1 10 KOs). The other televised fight will feature former world champion Oscar "Chololo" Larios (59-5-1, 37 KOs) against undefeated WBA #1 rated Jorge Linares (23-0, 14 KOs) for the vacant WBC interim featherweight championship. "This fight is very important to me because if I lose, it could be the end of my boxing career," said Larios. "I am ready to fight until the end to win this fight and another world championship belt. As the fight was originally scheduled for May, I am in excellent shape and ready to put it all on the line." Linares will be making his U.S. debut against Larios in what will be his toughest test to date. "This is my opportunity to show the American fight fans my strength and ability in the ring," said Linares. "Las Vegas is a great place for my debut as so many great champions have fought on boxing's main stage. I want to win this title for Venezuela like my countryman, the great Antonio Esparragoza did." The three-bout Hopkins vs. Wright HBO Pay-Per-View telecast has a suggested retail price of $49.95. Tickets for Hopkins vs. Wright, "Coming To Fight" are priced at $850, $650, $450, $250 and $100 and are now on sale. Tickets are available at any Mandalay Bay box office and all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations.

Thats the right kind of undercard to put underneath that main event.

Should be an entertaining night now.

another complete shit under-card from GBP. wow. i didn't think the bar could be any lower, but GBP has done it. ESPN quality fights, at best - apparently, that and a couple of over-paid HBO hold-up guys is all out $50 is worth. damn. and i'm sure i'll buy it too. but that don't mean i can't bitch. is there no such thing as good will anymore? Adam Smith, show me how this is supposed to work itself out, will ya? this is fuckin bull-shit.

Well I'm glad Golden Boy promotions is here to save boxing from itself.

I'm hoping Larios/Linares will be decent but the other one looks like a who gives a fuck fight.

    "....a who-gives-a-fuck-fight."

wouldn't that be sweet if Lampley called it for what it was.

"here we have tale of the tape for tonight's, who-gives-a-fuck-fight..."

you know, this will have long-term consequences - even though people keep buying. at this point GBP is a brand. a pretty damn good one - and one with potential. but if they keep pissing all over it it's gonna be just as foul as DKP and the others. i mean, it already is in reality, but the facade will be gone completely.

you're not saying you think the under-card is good, are you?

It's nothing special. I honestly don't know much about the undefeated kid that Larios is fighting for a belt.

well, the better he is, the worse the fight - because Larios ain't shit - not at 130, and not at his age. if we're lucky, the guy he's fightin won't be anything special and it'll be a war. my guess is, the guy's a legitimate prospect and he easily handles Larios. and then gets over-rated and then put on the next under-card.

i guess there's reason to be optimistic. maybe Larios has more left than i think.

That's why we need for Hopkins, Barrera, DLH and Mosley to retire. That way GBP will have to put up good cards.

Larios will win. People underrate him because of how Pac and Vasquez dismantled him. He's got a lot left in the tank than people think.
