    TACOMA, WA. (June 22, 2007) -- Former world champions and current top-rated contenders VERNON FORREST and CARLOS BALDOMIR collide for the World Boxing Council interim super welterweight title, Saturday, July 28. Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, in association with Brian Halquist Productions, the Forrest-Baldomir title tilt will be broadcast live from the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, on HBO Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:15 P.M. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast.)

    so baldomir gets shutout by floyd and forrest barely beats quartey and now they're fighting for a vacant title. why is it so hard for sam peter to get his title shot?

    since mayweather officially announced his retirement, shouldnt the title be vacant? why is this interim?

    i thought quartey won too, but regardless, forrest got the nod in ny on dibella's show. i dont think it was a highway robbery.

    Forrest will become the WBC interim super welterweight titlist.

    Yet Floyd, who claims retirement, is the active champ in both divisions? Or is he now Champ In Recess, or Champion Emeritus? :dunno:

    Can you belive this fight is a couple miles from where I live and I'm down here deployed in fucking Iraq! :doh: My one oppurtunity to go to my first real live boxing match and I just happen to be deployed at the time.
