Like a magician using his sleight of hand, many in boxing are adept in creating illusions. Before you know it, you start to believe whatever it is they want you to believe. Blinded by the smoke and betrayed by the mirrors, you no longer are sure of what is real and not real. Once the boxing magicians get started they can make you believe almost anything. Like Julio Cesar Chavez going unbeaten in 91 fights and lineal championships that can be traced to the beginning of time. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype but the truth leaves a trail. Let’s follow it. http://fightbeat.com/article_detail.php?AT=418
Marciano COULD NOT carry Holmes Jock Strap, this is true. And if we want revisionism, how about Marciano's fight with Charles should've been stopped well before he had time to comeback when he had his nose shattered and slit into ground beef. nice read though.
Sort of the like the way Abraham's fight with Miranda should've been stopped because of the broken jaw and bleeding all over the place? Oh wait, that fight was in color so it's OK. Cupey
All the Chavez groupies must be crying reading this article knowing that thier god lost by pulling a Roy.::
It's FINE & DANDY that U're an "Old School" NUTHUGGER, Per Se, but U're Being QUITE RiDICKulous Here... If they Fought 10 Times, Larry Holmes would DOMINATE John L. Sullivan @ LEAST 9 of them...Probabaly 10.... NO WAYinHELL does John L. Sullivan EVER BEAT Larry Holmes:nono: ...U Should B ASHAMED of Yourself for even SAYING that Shit... REED
I'd pick Foreman over Lewis. Frazier? Don't know. Frazier just might end up getting stopped in his tracks, he'd be giving up a tremendous size and reach advantage.
After watching Foreman / Ali, and Foreman / Lyle,.. there is no way, I'd pick him to ever beat Lewis, Foreman may have been 'big' and 'hulking' back in the day, but he's a dwarf by comparison to Lennox, and besides Lewis wouldn't engage in a slugfest, even though I'd pick him to come out ontop of it pretty quickly if he did, he'll just load up his big long guns and beat the tortise to the punch every time, line him up and CRUNCH with that terrifying right hand, and he thought little Ron Lyle could snap a neck :: ?.
I think Foreman is a much stronger solidly built man than Lennox ever was. 6'4 vs 6'5, hardly a major size advantage. I think Foreman is just tougher by design and naturally a more rugged powerful guy. Lennox might win by outboxing him to a decision but I think Foreman could end his night early, midway or late. Besides Kauki, you're talking about Foreman/Ali and Foreman/Lyle as a basis for discrediting Foreman's chances against Lewis. Did you not watch Lewis/Holyfield II, Lewis/Mercer, Lewis/McCall, Lewis/Rahman, Lewis/Bruno, Lewis/Klitschko, etc? I can't say Lewis exactly blew the roof off in a lot of his fights even when he was employing a major size advantage. Nobody really has a clue how this fight would turn out.
