Looking at your sig...Wayne Rooney resembles Hatton somewhat. They both look like typical british thugs.

Rooney is of Irish stock. The guy was never in trouble off the field in his life. And neither was Ricky. You are as bad as me...with your racial stereotypes....Big white Irish thugs. Come on man.:nono:

LOK, what's not to like about ricky? I'm just curious. He seems like a nice, down to earth blue collar guy with an all action style, comes to fights in shape, who really doesn't have a bad word to say about anybody. Just wondering why the dislike.

I beg to differ. This cat clinches and holds his way to victory. Then turns around and talks about how exciting he is. A fight with Hatton and Mosley will set Compubox clinch numbers to an all time high. I have no desire to see Hatton fight anyone what so ever.

I can't agree here, he very seldom "clinches", but when someone puts their arms around him he will either lock and arm around or an elbow down on their arm, but it was them who put their arms around him, not the other way around. All the while his hand are in front of him , not behind his opponent and he's looking to punch. A very high % of the time it takes 2 people to clinch. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a blind Hatton fan but I do like to watch him fight.

as others said, he holds a lot

he seems like a good guy, young guy and has lots of energy but what did it for me was him starting to talk trash..

saying that the casstillo fight was more action that Floyd's career.. I mean to me that makes Ricky look like a jerk.

the "blue collar" story is getting old.. a LOT of fighters back in the day came from blue collar backgrounds.. it just feels like they are selling this image..

I dont think he or some of his fans appreciate "boxing" I love to see skilled boxers.. like FLoyd.. and I think Floyd would destroy him..

I liked him more when he beat Zoo and I have become somewhat of a fan but now I just want to see him whupped.. that trash talk made me hope he gets sodomized

I would take a Hatton fight over Spinks vs Taylor, Hoya vs Floyd or Dirrell vs Stevens any day of the week. Now Floyd at 130 or so where he opened up on offense more, sure, but when Floyd fights the safe take a 12 round easy decision, no thanks. Sure Hatton does alot of arm control and trying to muscle his opponent to the ropes or corner but he never stops trying to punch. A clinch is where 2 guys are hugging and no work is getting done, that's why the ref either breaks them or tells them to "work out of it", Hatton never stops working, but I can see how some people wouldn't like watching it, all depends on what type of fights/fighters people enjoy watching.

Hatton will remain safely unbeaten @ 140 lbs. He won't move up now that the division is worthless. That way he can call out Juan Diaz, or maybe fight witter down the road. No way he steps up to 147 lbs again...at least not until his beer belly makes him move up....

Sure if you like the skilled boxer then you won't really care to see Ricky fight but I bet Ricky would do just fine without the arm work he does, stick to in and out, turning his opponent and volume but everyone has a natural way they fight and I'm sure that's his. Hatton has never really trashed talked before this and I think he's just trying to piss Floyd off to fight him.

I agree that I think Floyd wins that one, but I want to see it. I have no doubt that Floyd could box Rickys ears off and win using his hand and foot speed which while Ricky has good speed Floyd has fantastic speed. Floyd's stamina is never a problem and I'm sure Floyd has more then enough pop to catch Ricky coming in and or keep him honest, but I still want to see it and I don't "care" who wins as long as it's a good fight. All I want to see Floyd do is open up and fire more shots, show us what God blessed him with. I'm not saying get careless and just brawl but throw some shots, show me the hand speed, the combos, not the pot shot and circle unless your going to potshot your way to a KO like vs Gatti and not a 12 round super safe UD. But that's just me.

That's not saying a whole lot. Basically you're saying you would rather watch a Hatton fight than two fights that are in the running for worst fight of the year and another that's a candidate for disappointment of the year (though Hatton-Castillo is neck and neck with it as of now  ).

I guess what I'm saying is I want to see action and people who are trying to fight and win, trying to fight and damage their opponent. Not where people are playing it super safe and trying not to lose by "scoring points" the old touch and run.

well, to be fair, I do like Ricky.. I like his energy, for some reason though I want him to get dominated and then I'll like him better... a new beginning

You don't know what you're talking about. I've been a hatton fan for a long time and I have been turned off by his last 3 fights.

He doesn't hug like Ruiz but he clinches and grapples A LOT. He often punches then clinches, or rushes in, clinches then punches. He often stops his opponent's attack or offset's their rhythm by, again, clinching.

This has been mainly his last 3 fights.

The fucked up thing is, he doesn't need to do it. He is not inept like ruiz, and has to clinch.

He can win without doing that, he is a very talented fighter, very fast hands and feet, but without a flashy style, which leads to his speed being underrated. He has good timing, accuracy, and he is very strong. He can also punch a lot harder than given credit for. He's now taken out Maussa AND Castillo with single punches.

But please, stop the fucking clinching, it's just ugly and boring.

He obviously hates it that Ricky is not losing. Top fighters will always have haters until they start losing.

Seems like a bad style matchup for Hatton. Would be interesting to see though.

No I watched them the same night you did. Combine all of Hatton's fights and combine all of Mouthweathers fights and it's clear to see Hatton is much more exciting to watch.
