Don't fucking act as if Floyds media machine won't roll into over-drive weeks and months before the fight so as to influence referrees and judges etc, Okay:flip: Floyd has been at this shit before...."Diego Is A Wifebeater"....
Actually, depending on location, Floyd can't talk money with Ricky either.:nono: Hatton would sell out the New Wembley Stadium. Thats 80,000+.
Find someone to beat them. Oh, thats right, Australia already tried. And failed. Fair Dinkums to ya matey:clap:
:nono: Well, atleast he feels a little obligated to make an effort to harmonise,...:nono: what have you done for the concept of racial equality lately, you hypocritically savage Irish bastard? :crafty: apart from stamped your trump of arch in the clovers, and scissor kicked your clacks together with a hickering pop as jolly as Zsolt Erdei, by the way, you Irish howl some of the most corniest, embarrasing shit I've ever had the displeasure of hearing, doesn't that choir make your flouro skin braisen puse?.. because I felt embarrased to be white, whipped me fucken monocle across me lips and flipped me top-hat clean off me skull, no longer a gentleman, was I :nono: Danny boy.
I actually thought a lot of te grappling was prolonged willingly by Castillo. Hatton was getting some great punches in on the inside. Very effective job. I enjoyed it.
Any signings at Goodison yet? Fuck all up at Anfield..for all the talk of Torres. I think Rafa is a sly dog, should have someone within 2 weeks
I've got to agree here. 90% of the time it takes 2 to clinch. It's not like Hatton was pulling Castillo's arms around him and then locking the elbow down. Hatton doesn't "hug" much, what he does is when someone puts their arms around him he either puts his arm around their arm and back in front or just locks the elbow down all the while looking to punch. Lets not fool ourselves here if you just flat dislike him, he's no John Ruiz. If people want to bitch about things that Hatton does, bitch when they get close and he pulls the guys head down then turns out and fires a left hook, he seems to do that alot.
My guess is that you like Floyd Mayweather fights (Usually those who don't like Hatton like Floyd) in which if that's the case then let's see what you enjoy: Floyd averaged 40 punches per round against Oscar in which nobody got hurt Ricky averaged 55 punches per round against Castillo in which Castillo was KO'd So you must like fights in which not many punches are thrown and no one gets hurt?
Just to Clarify,What REED Found "Impressive" was WHO Hatton Beat & the MANNER N which he did It... Did ANYBODY Pick Hatton to KO Castillo EARLY???... Anyone???...Anyone??? REED:dunno:
Statistics are like bikinis: What they reveal is suggestive, what they conceal is vital. 55 punches per round doesn't speak to all of the hugging and hitting from Hook 'n' hold Hatton.:nono:
I don't think anyone did actually. He certainly had a much easier time than I predicted, and this was acknowledging the possibility of Castillo being on the shot side. I said before the fight, Hatton hits HARDER than people give him credit for. Still, he is turning me into a non fan with this fucking grappling.
I'm done being a fan of Hatton...he throws his one or two punches, then at the very least ties up one arm of his opponent. He never fought like that before the Tszyu fight. He was all action, no cheating...just throwing punches (and moving at angles to his opponent really well.) You should only be permitted to hold when hurt and trying to buy time...in that case, you are basically conceding that you are in trouble and you've lost the round (or that part of it, anyway.) I think you should automatically lose any round in which you hold. I know people are saying it takes two to hold...but Ricky is really obvious...he just reaches right out and grabs people. I've seen too many fights where that was allowed to pass and I wonder what the outcome would have been if it hadn't. Lewis v Tyson...I know Tyson was shot, but I would have liked to have seen what would have happened if Lewis didn't tie him up everytime he went to throw a punch...Lewis was obviously doing that because he thought something bad might happen if he didn't. Wladamir has basically won a heavyweight championship BECAUSE OF being allowed to use that style...guy has a glass jaw, so anytime anyone gets near him he reaches out and grabs them...what happens if he can't do that anymore? He gets KO'ed, and never gets to the point where he's at currently.
Holding is part of the fucking GAME! Every fighter does it in EVERY fight you should be use to it by now. Name one fight where there was NO holding not one time during the fight. You act like it was just Hatton holding at all times when thats clearly bullshit alot of the times in the clinch Hatton would hold his arm up as to say "I'm NOT the one holding" and that happened a number of times during the fight. Castillo was holding more than Hatton so why not talk about that part and while Hatton would fight out of the clinch Castillo would still be trying to hold. For all the holding Hatton was doing he sure found the time to land afew good left body shots to end the fight in round 4.
Whether their standing around looking at each, hugging, running, or whatever one simple fact remains a constant 55 > 40
I don't see Floyd as retreating that much to be honest with you. He bores me to death however with his lack of action and no power to speak of but he's there, right in front of his opponent. I'd like to see him fight someone who'd kick em in the groin, knee him, perhaps an elbow or two just to see what he does and if he can adapt. A Duran type would be perfect. I believe this is why he avoided Margarito at all costs. Antonio wouldn't stand there like a retard trying to outbox Floyd, he'd bullrush him.
So U Wanna See Floyd N MMA???... & Please STOP Clinging to the "Floyd Ducked Margarito" FALLACY... Arum ONLY Made that Offer AFTER he KNEW Floyd was LEAVING his Stable...Floyd had his Sights SET on a MEGA Fight w/DeLa... He "Ducked" Margarito to Make $20 Mil???...Yeah,O.K. REED
No, I don't want to see Floyd in the MMA. Was your advice to Duran to stay on the outside and outbox Sugar Ray Leonard? Would your advice be to Lennox Lewis to go out there and trade punches with David Tua? This isn't knitting 101, nor is it let's stand on the outside and see who is the fastest. As for Margarito - Floyd, after reading your post I guess we've entered the "Go ahead and spin it all you want zone" to make yourself feel better but here is the truth. They offered a career high payday for Floyd at the time, Floyd said "NO", Margarito called him out over and over again, Floyd said "NO", Margarito went to Floyd press conferences and called him out, "Floyd said "NO". You can talk about Oscar all you want but all I can say is that all that claim indicates is that Floyd bypassed all threats for at least 2 years so he can secure a payday he wasn't sure he'd ever get?
Glad to See YOU ACKNOWLEDGING what YOU'RE Doing:bears: ... Arum Only ACTIVELY PURSUED a Floyd-Margarito Fight AFTER Floyd-Zab...That was THE ONLY Time this "Career High Payday" was Offered...That's a FACT... But By that Point,DeLa was ALREADY Talking about Facing Floyd...That's WHY Arum MADE the Offer...Cause he KNEW Floyd was On his Way OUT... So AGAIN,if U Wanna SAY Floyd "Ducked" Margarito by Instead Choosing to TRIPLE that "Career High PayDay" that Arum Offered him,so B It... Just B WELL AWARE that YOU'RE "Spinning" to Suit YOUR Agenda,as Well... REED
But Floyd hasn't fought the top guys at whatever weight he's been at since Castillo at 135. I mean Corley, Bruseles and Gatti at 140 when 140 was the deepest weight in boxing. Mitchell and Baldomir at 147 (I give him a pass on Judah, I wanted to see that fight) when there were much harder fights at 147. Do I think he was picking a choosing his way to a fight with Oscar, yes I do. Do I think that's a smart "business" move, hell yes it is. Is it good for the fans or good for boxing, not so much, but Floyd has to do what's good for Floyd. Now that he's got his huge payday vs Oscar, how about we now see Floyd vs Cotto, Margarito, Mosley. If he does some or all of these fights then hats off to him, if not then that's all the answer you need.
MWS had Hatton in Round 1. Outside of an assasination attempt, it doesn't get any earlier than that.....
If two punches and then grab your opponent is part of the game, then I'm not a boxing fan. Sure in all fights there is a little bit of holding...mainly two guys getting tied up inside...not one guy reaching out with both arms to hold after he throws two punches, over and over again. THAT is bullshit. Ricky reaching out with both arms and giving Castillo a big bear hug, then putting his arms up in the air (what, two times?) was a joke...something someone with a guilty conscience would do... But you have a point about Castillo...he really wasn't protesting the holding or rough housing Hatton back...might have been because he's pretty much done as a fighter, though. I think when you have a guy that is fighting like that you have to be first all the time and then when he grabs onto you throw a lot of dirty shots inside, like Tszyu versus Mitchell in their fights.
